Right now the car shifts at 5900. What do you think it should be shifted at? How much is being left on the table shifting at 5900?

Rule of thumb to shift 500rpm above peak, it seems at 6200 you are still at top and starting to drop. Anything above 6800 is going to require arp bolts for your connecting rods. If you car feels like its dying at 6700 drop it to 6500. You are making the most power from 6krpm and up. The higher you shifter the higher youll be in your rpm band the next gear. IMO.

I agree, I was going to say between 6400-6800 depending on what got you the best results in each gear selection, the lower gears normally like a little more time after peak HP where the higher gears like it a little closer. Either way, try shifting in that range and you should be good to go...

Shift so that you keep as much meat as you can under the curve or as high as
the bottom end will let you go, whichever is lower.

In your case, as close to 6200-6500rpm depending how lucky you feel.

Well I am just trying to pick up a couple hundreths to hit 11s. Ran 12.01 last time out. I dont want to spin it to high honestly. Maybe 6300-6400 should do the trick.

IF you were shifting at 5900, youll pick up alot more than a couple hundreths, id say .2.

6300 will be plenty as you're past peak and torque is starting to fall...and yea you should pick up quite a bit

I'd go with 6600-6700, as well, if you're not worried about your motor (don't know what springs, etc, you're running). But even 6400 should pick up a tenth or two easy if you were shifting at 5900 before. You weren't even hitting peak hp before, which means you were leaving a LOT on the table at the top of each gear and at the beginning of the next gear.

It has patriot duels, I am more worried about rod bolts or spinning a bearing with 92k miles.

Should have done ARP bolts and a ported water pump while the car was down.

I'd shift at 6300-6400 and set limiter at 6600 or 6700. Just make sure you don't miss a shift.

I have 114k, and have been revving to 6600-6700 for two summers and most of it with a 100-180 shot of nitrous. IMO you should be fine.

I was thinking of adding nirtous to mine as well. 100 shot off the line would be bottom 11s.

the hp curve you show has a positive second order throughout. therefore, I would shift at the top of the curve (6200). the point is to maximize hp at every instant.

It depends on the shift extension of that converter. It peaks at 6200 but looks like it holds pretty good until 6500. I would shift it at 6500-6600 rpms.
