When Wade crosses the line he lets off the throttle and pulls the chute. The tranny we have goes into neutral (freewheels) whenever there is no throttle being used. So the RPM's come down to idle, which makes the vacuum pump almost not working. The vacuum pump is RPM related with a belt off the front pulley. More RPM, more Vacuum. When the chute hits, it nosedives the car, bottoms it out actually, and all the oil gets pushed to the front of the motor allowing the rods to pick it up and shoot into the front bores making it smoke since there is no vacuum and lots of pressure buildup. The front plugs always look different then the others. This track also has a short shutdown, so the chute is deployed right away at basically full speed to get it to slow down in time for the upcoming corner. Some smoke also comes from tire rub when you get out of it and the tire distorts.
