Default 10bolt and A4 question

How far can the 10 bolt take you with say a 3200-3400 stall running N20. I am talking about foot braking the car and using a progressive controller so not to slam everything out of the hole. I would also be running this with DR's, like Nitto's 275/40 17"s

I am currently running a M6 and have intrest in buying a A4.

There are a bunch of cars running 11s and 10s with it and cutting 1.4xs and 1.5xs 60ft time.

I have been numerous low 1.5xs on my old Z28 and my TA. Both cars had slicks and spraying out of the hole(Z28 was a A4 and the TA is a A3)

i run a vig3200 and ET streets and cut 1.7x's to 1.8x's all day. i have an LPW girdle on it but its still holding up, making a few noises but she is still holding strong. u should be fine to about 1.5x's, much past there and its a shot in the dark. Some last forever others 2 runs hah.

Nice. I am just looking to run consistant high 10's. Z28 you ran a 3000 stall with the F13and 150 shot? I just looked at your sig.... I just added the new cam with heads, before i was running a TR224 with a 125shot and ran 11.3's at 127-128 on 1.91 60's. Maybe I should be patient and hit my H/C setup with a 150 shot and see if I can eek out a 10.9

Stick with the nittos DR and 3.42 or 3.23's and it will last a little under 11.00. Once you start deadhooking it on some real tires, it will be time to upgrade.

You have the mph for a high 10 pass. Your 60 is terrible, I run 1.69 on a stock converter and 3.23's. With your stall you should be cutting 1.6 or better 60ft. Try lowering your tire pressure to 18psi and don't even drive through the burnout box on those nittos. If you can get your 60 down where it needs to be you'll run 10.9.
Try some wieght reduction upfront or maybe some qa1s

I wouldn't worry about the 10bolt untill you hit 1.5x 60ft, IMO



On second thought, **** it, spray that bitch out of the hole for a 10 sec pass and call it a day

gsxr.... i run a M6 with the stock 10bolt(3.90's) and was thinking about making the switch to the A4. I just read that the person that goes by GM Muscle has run some bottom 10's with the 10bolt and his A4 with the help of N20.

Yup and the transmission was garbage before that pass

GM Muscle is still running stock 2.73s as well

My stock posi 10 bolt has done 1.591 on a 7.52 1/8th pass with 30x9 slicks, 4.11 gear, 4000 stall verter, and a 150 horse shot. Hit it til it explodes!!

Hell no, don't stand there red-faced! There's probably only a handful of people there that can shred a 28 spline rearend. When they ask you, tell them your motor stripped every tooth off the ring and snapped every spider gear (or cone) your posi ever thought about having in it. Just remember every fwd pos that broke a halfshaft with half the horses and held the race up!

keep the 60fts to 1.60 or higher and you will be ok anything lower than that and the risk goes up alot

I've gone 1.52 short times with just foot braking and holding off on the spray until the car's moving. Went 10.45@133 last fall on a 175 shot w/o NANO. Haven't been to the track this year, but I'm hoping for 10.20s @ 137 this year. Probably going to put a 9 inch in this winter.

I run 1.69 on a stock converter and 3.23's. With your stall you should be cutting 1.6 or better 60ft.

Wow! I never heard of a 1.69 on a stock converter. I always thought the converter was the only way for that kind of 60'

I cut a 1.62 sixty foot with a 4000 stall and 3.73 my first time out on a stock 10 bolt on a 100 shot spraying at about 60' mark.
