Default Question on new rear axle

Hey guys I value your input from your own experiences, with that being said I have a question on my new rear axle im ordering for my street /strip 1995 z28. The car currently has 3.73 gears in it with 275 50 15s mt drag radials, would I be better off with 4.10s and 275 60 15s?
The car is a H/C LT1 that is currently running 11.60 at 115/116 with a best 60ft of 1.61.

from my experience i have a 12 bolt with 3.73 and a 3600 stall. At the end of the track the rpm are high, around 6300. if I had a deeper gear such as 4.10, i believe i would be well past my power band with the 245/50-16 nitto tires 26 inch.

are you auto or m6. being an auto i wouldn't go past 3.90, even if you have the taller tire.

the 3.90 or 3.73 will give you more room to trap higher speeds as you increase power levels.

I run 11.61 @116.23 with a 1.599 60'

note your rpms at the end of the track and decide if you have room for a deeper gear.

Another factor is, is this car all strip? or strip/street. I think 3.73 -3.90 is perfect for a strip/street application. But if you spend more time trying to get that best possible number, 4.10 with a taller tire might be the choice.

Assuming you have a auto trans. The gear ratio will need to be decided on the final engine combo. I ran a 12 bolt with 3.42's on a 26" tall tire so when I threw 150 shot on my 383 LT1 I planned on trying to run out of gear. I also like to drive my car alot on the street and a high ratio is a gas killer.

If left N/A you can even do 4.10/4.11's or w/ power adders, you need to decide what MPH you may cross the traps at and decide accordingly.

The taller tire you run, you can put the psi to a reasonable level but get a better contatch patch vs a smaller tire of the same width.

I am throwing alot of ideas out, but honestly decide what the final power combo is, and what mph you want to run.
