the OP's times are slower but the guy still got a white paper
Sometimes they keep the carbons, sometimes they don't. Occasionally I get both.

Yeam same here. I think the 1st of the two drivers to show up get the white, and I get the yellow.

At my local (shitty) track, you have to send your slips off to CSI for an investigation if you plan on reading your times. They haven't put new ink (or whatever they use) in the machine since 1931.

Sort of like a mini trophy for that run. More tracks don't use carbons now & print 2 white tickets.
If you run a single, they usually give you both slips.

That's funny. But true.
At the NHRA & IHRA national and div points races we get the white one if we win, yellow for the other car. (Didn't say looser<G>) If it's so close you can't tell who one (over half of the rounds), and the sun is at your back it often looks like both small win lights on the walls are on, guys usually watch for which color time slip they are giving you.
Nope. If the guy you beat gets to the booth first, he still gets the yellow slip. That is how we know if we won, by the color slip the other guy gets. If the sun isn't behind you screwing with your view of the small win lights, you see which lane won and already know. Don't know how your local track does test & tune or bracket races, but at the bigger events winner gets the white one.

That is correct about the guy in the lanes needing to see the lights. I'm talking about the drivers not being about to see if their win light on the guard rails are on when the sun is making them both look like they are on. We often don't know who won until we get the time slip. Probably half of my rounds are that close. We just hope for the white one.

I've never had to show any slip to get back in the staging lanes. They have the ladder and pairings for the next round when they call us back up so they know who runs who.
