Loosing power through converter?

My car made 406 but the converter stayed unlocked the whole time. It's a TCI SSF 3500 stall converter. About how much HP would I gain if it locked up instead of staying unlocked?

It really depends on the converter and/or dyno. But the real answer is who cares. If you want stick numbers get a stick. If you want to be fast live with lower numbers.

My 3500 only showed a 6hp difference from locked & unlocked on the dyno.
I bet you might see 8-12hp gain w/that converter locked.

I have the same converter and was having issues with it flashing to 4.75k RMP on the dyno... It said I only made 330hp and 298tq (peak tq should be around 38-42k rpm) but I still ran an 8.17 on street tires at 88mph leaving off idle with a 2.1 60'. I don't think these converters are very efficient at all. I plan on going with a Vig in the near future.
