Default Tr224 numbers

The first graph was with old cam, second is the Tr224. I think some exhaust work is needed, but had transmission problems on the way home. Torque is really what amazed me, nice gain.

Well...It was from former MTI in Houston. I was told it was a 216/220 with .522 lift on 116lsa. This is debatable because I purchased it from them and they installed it. Now that I have done the swap my self I have the cam in hand to get some numbers.

Almost the same numbers considering that torque spike at the beginning of the graph. Slight torque gain. I'd be skeptic of those old cam specs. Were these SAE numbers? Were they on the same dyno?

doesnt seem like it was worth it for the gains seen...

$300 (cam)
$300 (install)
$50-100 (retune)

approx --- $700, unless you did the install yourself...

Install was done myself. Since the horsepower and torque were close to the same the tuner told me there was probably a restriction in the exhaust. This was done on the same dyno.

Not bad, I would just invest some coin in a set of Kooks or TSP headers and ditch the Mac's.

My old T/A with basically the same setup, Stage I heads, TR224, TCI 3500 stall, did 392/373 RWHP/RWTQ but with 1 3/4 Pacesetters, ORY, and a catback. You may pick up another 10 RWHP changing to an ORY setup w/LT's, but I wouldn't expect much more.

I dunno going from a cam on a 116lsa to the 112 would be worth it for me gotta love that choppy idle.... not to mention he's putting down more torque than most larger cams bet she pulls like a sob

Well most of the "224" cams are the same duration intake and exhaust like..

224/224 .563/.563 ----Thunder Racing
224/224 .581/.581 ----TSP

These are probably the most popular ones but everyone makes one that is similar.
