Default Any back to back testing on Eldebrock to other 1 7/8" headers

I'm wondering what the difference is going to be, switching from my Eldebrocks to say a Kooks, or ARH in a 1 7/8". Assuming the collector was a 3 1/2", which is what the Eldebrocks have on them.

Eldebrocks are 1 3/4" stepped to a 1 7/8" to a 3 1/2" race merge collector.

No complaints with the current Eldebrocks, other then I stood the car up and smashed a few pipes a bit, and they have been on the car 4-5 years.

It looks like almost a grand for Kooks or ARH, compared to about 650 for the Eldebrocks, then paying someone to tig the collectors on, so still about a $300 difference.

I doubt you'll gain anything. Then again, if you have to buy new ones anyway, why not just get the best out there and you won't have to ask this question anymore.

I went from Jet-Hot 1-3/4" to Kooks 1-3/4" and the fitment and finish looks so much better that I think it was worth it. $500 compared to $750

No, I dodn't misss that, but the last time I checked, they weren't putting 402-408's in the newer vettes. All I see in there are results on a smaller cube motor. Other than one guy that says he lost track times while running NA, which is interesting, but I'm not NA.

I'm not against spending the extra $300, but want that decision to be based on reality, not speculation. So far I'm not finding anything that show a justification. These headers have been out for years, you would have thought there would have been a real world header shootout by now. Maybe there has, but not worth posting, as it might not in the best interest of certain manufacturers... I dont know
