I'm running what I considered a big cam when I did my 416, (248/254, .615/.648" on a 112+2) and actually wanted to go bigger, but Pete advised me against it considering the car is 90% street driven. Very glad I took his advice, even with 27* of overlap, the car is very streetable and makes killer power from 3k on up to 6500+. We left some power on the table with a fairly rich tune and conservative timing setting due to the shitty 91 octane gas I have to run in it around here. All in all I'm very happy with this combo, as most of you know, 550 rwhp N/A in a 3000lb street car is ALOT of fun! ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)

Those of us that drove our strokers every day are limited by intake vacuum as well. I think I was only seeing about 7"-8" hg with mine. I was running a 247/255 .623/.623 on a 112+2. That gets kind of hard to tune for a daily driver. And like the rest of the guys were saying, you run out of induction pretty fast on a large motor.

I am running a 257/266 .645/.623 Cam motion cam in my 404 and rev the car to 7200. My motor is limited by tinny 1' 3/4 headers and LS6 heads that were ported 4 years.

Hey guys, I was curious about something. A lot of guys put a really big and unruly cam in stock displacement and make some pretty big hp numbers (high 400s).
My logic would say put an unruly cam in something with some cubes (402+) and make some really big hp numbers (high 500s maybe?), but most bigger cube motors I read about stay with smaller cams to make great torque and have street manners and only make high 400s hp.
Why is that? Why do people live with issues in small cubes but don't seem to in big?

What would you guys suggest for a lq9/425 with WCCH stg2 l92, ls3 intake and pacesetters/ORY/dual cutouts? I have a MS4 @ 111LAS right now but was advised in anther thread that I should find something else. They gave no indication as to what I should replace the MS4 with but all I know is the reviews and the nasty choppy idle is what sold me. I listened to man sound clips and I love the way the MS4 sounds at 111, too bad they dont make them in a 109. Like I said in the other thread, I want the damn thing to sound as if it is trying to hack out a small child that just got suck into the intake lol.
