Default Dyno for H\C\I ls1 GTO

I went to the dyno few weeks ago to get the car tuned

the first run was awsome the car made 415 hp and 373 trq on 88% of the TB open

after fixing the TB the car made the same numbers and the most we got is 424 hp and 380 trq which i think is low

the car was giving a black smock in all of the runs that we did even when was the afr about 13.1 and the timing is about 27*

even when i tested the car on the rod it did not feel smooth

Moods are:
Air Induction & Exhaust

- K&N Cold Air Intake
- Nick Williams 92mm Throttle Body
- Edelbrock Victor J.r. Intake Manifold
- Edelbrock Low Profile Elbow
- Kooks LongTube Headers
- SLP Loud Mouth II Cat Back Exhaust System

Fuel Management

- EdelBrock Fuel Rails
- Fuel Injectors 42LB
- Walbro 225 Fuel Pump

Engine & Valvetrain

- Mahle Pistons
- ET Cylinder Heads w/ARP Head Studs 225 62cc
- FTI Custom Camshaft (230/240 630/610 110 LSA)
- Heavy Duty Oil Pump
- Chrome-Moly Pushrods
- Double Roller Timing Chain
- ASP Underdrive Pulley

Transmission & Drivetrain

- Auto 4L60E
- Gear Ratio : 3.46

is it a tune problem or that what it should make....?

a/f should be richer, around 12.7-12.9

also i think the heads are a lil big for the ls1s

other then that seems like good numbers

Hello ZaHeR ,

I see that it is nice numbers with low-profile elbow ! .. low-profile elbow is a big restriction , try other elbow that used for FI setups
In general elbows are restrictions even if they are bigger than Low-Profile elbow ! .. cause in N/A application nothing force the air to the first cylinders ( 1st cylinder & 2nd cylinder ) after more than 180ْ of rotating !

So if you have a chance to 4 barrel TB go for it ZaaaaHeeeeR

Also ported Victor Jr can make a big sence

I think cold zero got it...plus youre an auto. Try the track and see the results, then you can say if its fast or not and maybe a cutout too?

Post dyno sheet, maybe some tech guys can see something wrong.

was this on a mustang dyno? I would think a H/C/I LS1 GTO would make 440-460 on a dynojet but the numbers seem about right on a mustang dyno. The only sure way to really tell if it is running right is to take it to the track.

Bro

as stated before, and evident from alot of threads, that elbow will take from 30 ~ 60 hp, also the 4 bbl manifold require porting since the Victor J flowed and found maximum was 275cfm if not mistaken. The Accuafab 4150 will do more than the job needed (flow to alomst 1000 cfm). additionally your tune need to be checked, I'm not an expert, but from what I see in the LS1tech threads that 12.4 to 12.8 is common with performance cars on the LS1 engine, but as I say I'm not an expert. With the above job if done, you will be in the 480rwhp mark margin or more, and the thing will be a beast to drive...

bythe way, are you from JED or RIYA or DAM...

uhh i think the numbers are way low! my TA dynoed 414rwhp with stock 241 heads,a bit smaller cam, stock LS6 intake and TB,and full exhaust!

oh and this is thru a A4 with a 4K stall so yea i think his combo is either way low on power, bad tune,or completely wrong combination for the motor?

Looks like you could have made just as much power, if not more, with a ported FAST92 and matching TB.

Why that intake combo and only spin it 6400 RPM's?????????????????????
There is prolly some more power hiding, HP is still climbing....

That graph is not SAE corrected. I have seen numbers go up or down with correction, depending on a lot of conditions.
