Default 2001 SS Camaro M6 Lid and Catback

I very very impressed with my girl to say the least!! She put down 330 RWHP and 374 RWTQ with just a SLP Lid and SLP Catback other that completely stock! Even the guys are JBA said those were impressive numbers for a mostly stock LS1. Pacesetters and a Y pipe are already on order hoping to push over 350 RWHP and 390 RWTQ and run mid to high 12's.

I can't explain where all the torque is coming from in fact it was 381 on the first pull and dropped to 374 on the second. Car runs like a raped ape for what it is.

Dyno Dynamics are known for their ridiculously high TQ #'s. Stock F-bodies don't make 370 ft lbs of TQ. Not even "factory freaks".

Your car is probably around the 320h/330tq range on a legit dyno which is right around where it should.

Taken from a professional dyno tuner:

The Dyno Dynamics is known throughout the industry as being the "heartbreaker" dyno - because it breaks the heart of every man that thinks he has 500 hp when he really has 350. The Dyno Dynamics reads lower than the Mustang. It reads WAY lower than a Dynojet. It reads WAY lower than a Dynapack (which actually reads too high on tip-in). The closest in numbers (at low HP) is the mustang, but using the above example, the same 300hp car was dyno'd back to back on a Dyno Dynamics 450 LowBoy (what we have) and a Mustang AWD500E (what some other guys have), and that 300hp rated car consistently read 223 on the Dyno Dynam ics and 249 on the Mustang. One hour apart, exact same car, same town, same altitude, etc.

Almost everything I have researched says they are the most accurate and lowest reading. Either way the car is getting LT's next week an dyno'd again on a different dyno it will be interesting to see how it comes out.

Agree with Damian. No way your car is making the torque it says it is. Who is this 'professional tuner' who says Dyno Dynamics read low?

The HP numbers are believable and solid though.

Isn't the dyno dynamics the one where you remove the rear wheels? If so, not having to turn the heavy rims and tires would account for the difference in torque.

Yeah, after checking out some other cars that were on that same type of dyno, the high torque reading seems to be the norm for them.

That's about the same as me. All I have on my M6 01 SS is an slp lid, and a custom dual catback. I made 334 rwhp and 380 ft/lbs. These cars are really impressive stock.

Another dyno that seems to reads high on the torque side from the numbers I'm seeing people post up.

380rwtq with lid and catback? Hmmmm........seems high. I thought 325-335hp and 340-350tq was the flywheel power rating. less 15% is usually right give or take 5 in terms of rwp. Although the motors are known for having higher numbers than what they actually said to the automarket

What he said, Nice results! I made 327/355 full exhaust through an A4 on mine. Put it in a DynoJet and made 325/330.
