kinda of a dumb question about cam and dyno
kinda of a dumb question about cam and dyno I just got done installing my cam and i haven't really drove the car since just start it up every now and then for about 2 weeks now and i have a dyno date this week and kind nervous should i hold off on the dyno or will my cam/ motor be alright for it ?
Don't totally understand your question... Is the dyno date to get it tuned? If so, you need to get it tuned - from idle all the way up - not just WOT pulls on the dyno...
The cam requires no break-in. What you do need to do is ensure the car has reached operating temperature a couple times and then allowed to cool back down completely. This is called heat cycling, and it essentially is the required break in for your valvesprings.
Why haven't you driven it? Get out there and put some miles on it. Although it's likely fine, I try not to go over 4k RPM on a new cam job until it's been tuned. Go ahead and drive it though, that way you'll know if there's any issues prior to getting on the dyno.

the reason i havnt driven the car is because my plates are expired and to get my plates renewed i have to pass emissions so i set up a dyno tune and wasn't really sure if i should wait or not. Im going to drive it to the shop i work at this week with it plates and hopefully everything is good thanks for the reply's
