Horsepower TV E-Rod LS3
The engine used in the show had never been run before the dyno test. You can see this when the manifolds were changed. The exhaust ports are clean aluminum. It was ran with a electric water pump, short air inlet tube, and a high flow air filter. There were straight sections of 2.5" pipe installed on the converters, and Flowmaster mufflers.
They do not record using the SAE standard as GM does. They use the more common aftermarket standard. I was there for all the dyno testing, and the install in the car. Their dyno has been certified by the manufactuer, but I believe it is a little optimistic. Still, it made really good power, and was quite a improvement over the LS1 we removed.

Edit: I see gmperformanceparts.com has those starting @ $7500 rated @ 430hp, 424 tq plus all the goodies to run it in a hot rod type build. Sweet.
