Default New Dyno #`s are in

Hey guys

I just replace my TR230/224 cam with a MTI R1 232/236 camshaft. The car felt pretty good but I wasnt sure how much power it really made. So today I went to East Side for a dyno tune. Guy put the car on the dyno and it made 391/361. I was like WTF. My car usually dynos between 419-425. The tune in the car was for the other cam but man I was hoping for more hp not 30 less!! Well after adjusting the tune I was back up .My final numbers on a safe tune were

431/422 on a UNLOCKED converter. My old #`s were through a locked converter. So It is a nice gain

Best part is that I not only make More Power It makes it earlier in the power band peaks 431rwhp at a 6100 and it holds strong all the way up through 6800.

MTI R1 cam Its not just for strokers anymore !
I will post the graph as soon as i can scan it.

I was very happy. They really did a great tune the car feels very good.

I still have no ported TB , EWP, and the cutouts were not opened so there is still more to be had. The car was dynoed the same way I drove the 112 miles to get there.

Id like to thank Eastside for the great tune and Hawkeye for the cam install and ofcourse AS speed for heads that just plan work!

Jeremy

Well the difference on the tr230 was 9 hp . But I am not exactly sure if it would be the same with this cam.Im sure it would be right around there. I have a multidisc converter so Its not as loose as the other vig converters so thats why its not like 15-20

take that thing to vette docs and lock the converter so you can do an overlay of the graphs.

Always wanted to know what an R1 would do in a 346.

What's it drive like with the R1?

To be honest When I first switched over from the tr230 I had some real hot start problems and it would stall when i would stop fast. But Kevin (N0G0) fixed all that really fast for me and now the car drives as well as it did with the tr230. A good tune works wonders.
