Default Car Back from ARE... Wow.

I brought my car into ARE Monday morning at 8:00 to install there Stage 1 heads(stock valves), 230/230 .592/.592 112 camshaft, Grott Long Tube Headers and Off Road Y pipe and my SLP Line Lock. I got a call on Tuesday night that the car was ready to hit the rollers and was ready to be picked up as soon as they installed the Line Lock. I got a call at 10:00am Wednesday morning saying the car was finished and ready to be picked up. The car made 425rwhp and 394rwtq throught the SLP Dual Dual /w a cutout These are the only changes from the car and it made 318rwhp and 331rwtq. So that's a 107rwhp and 63rwtq gain over my previous setup. This car doesn't have an underdrive pully, EWP or anything else and was dynoed without any tricks. It was dynoed the way I drive it on the steet in full street trim. I'm very pleased and can't wait to get the car out to the track and see what she can do. Thanks ARE what an awesome Job.

Again thanks to ARE.

How does the car sound with that cam, is it lumpy with a 112 lsa ? People know your comin ?

WHAT do you think of those grottyohann headers ? I haven't really heard much about them , But I know ARE has used them before. I am intrested in these headers, can't find much info on them. Is there a web site ?

Is the extra 100 hp a kick in the *** ?!

The cam lopes hard... I love it. I haven't even opened the cutout yet so I can't wait to hear it then. I got the Grott Long Tubes off Warbird last year when he went with the Turbo and they seem good to me.

I drove the car last night in some very heavy traffic for almost 2 hours and had 0 issues with the car in stop and go traffic.

Very nice RWHP. 430 SAE is great and I'm sure its very streetable as well as super fast.

I don't know anything about computer tuning, but I see the AF ratio around 16:1 from 4800 rpm to 17.5 at the end. Is this a normal setting? Was it tuned further after this graph?

From my reading elsewhere, this seems EXCEPTIONALLY lean and may risk detonation. (see this small thread and others on computer tuning and A/F ratios: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...air+fuel+ratio)

Shouldn't it be in the vacinity of 12.5:1 throughout? Or is there a reason for the lean settings?

Congrats and best of luck w/it.

Steve

I think you're reading the hp line on the a/f scale. Looks to me like the a/f is between 13-13.5 when the cars under load. Look at the darker line in relation to the a/f scale.

Take a look at the top of the second graph. It says: "Max A/F=17.5".

But I guess you're right.

Each graph represents the HP and the A/F ratio respectively. I guess the 17.5 was at the beginning, given that it stayed at the max of 13.5.
