Default 5.3 with comp cam

My stock ls1 lost oil pressure on the highway about two months ago, replaced it with a cheap 5.3 to get my car running in a hurry as it's my DD.
Car has stock ls1 head with after market springs
Comp cam 220/224 on 114 lsa I believe lift is around 53x
Stock manifolds/gutted cats
Ls1 intake
Lid and catback
Dynoed 308/318
How do these numbers sound to y'all I was hoping for a little more personally but I understand the intake and manifolds are a hinderance

Lol; the 5.3 itself is a hinderance.
Kidding apart, put headers on, that cam needs more exhaust for sure.

Yeah, I'm sure the manifolds on the intake and exhaust sides aren't helping. Not bad numbers for the setup though.

You should be able to hit 330 with headers and ls6 intake.

Not really. In the hybrid section there was a 5.3 with ls6 cam, heads, intake that did 330rwhp.

Not what I would call bad.

For the price i think it is really impressive, and it's made the choice to throw some laughing gas at my car a heck of a lot easier

i think those numbers are damn good given the use of ls1 heads and manifolds. get some headers, an ls6 intake, and good tune on it...i don't see why you couldn't get somewhere around 335 whp.

then i'd look at milling the **** out of those heads haha.

you should put the 5.3 heads back on, those ls1 heads dropped the compression which i why your numbers are so low, the 862 heads flow just as good as stock ls1 heads

Really that sucks I tried searching which heads would be better and I thought what I found said they were basically the same heads with thR truck heads having a smaller intake valve
I don't believe they were 862 by the way
