Default 98 Corvette Dyno results

Well I decided to dyno my Vette before we do the LS6 intake swap this weekend. I want a before and after to see whats the gain. This was on a Dynojet. Details...

98 Vette, Automatic, 77,000 miles
Mods: Vararam and TI axleback ( ZO6 Mufflers)
My guess was 300hp and 300tq at the wheels

The car made 298rwhp and 310rwtq on the best pull and the worst was 295rwhp and 306rwtq.

We couldn't get the car to stop up shifting on the dyno so the pulls only go to about 5600 rpms. The air fuel was really rich as well. The leanest number through a pull was 12.3 but most of the pull it was 11.8-12.0. I am sure I could have goten 10-15 more hp with a tune and getting the car to go to 6k rpms. Overall I am pleased with it. We are gonna swap over my LS6 intake that I just took off my T/A to the Vette on Saturday and see what happens on the Dyno next week with it.

i dunno, man. my car was mid-high 13s at cruise. i leaned it out and picked up roughly 4 mpg. stock tune had 12.6 wot afr and 28* timing in it. no knock. everything was cool, but the rich cruising. it went from consistent 24 mixed mpg to 28+. i suspect it would've done over 30 on the highway, but hell the car hasn't seen an interstate roadtrip scenario in 5 years haha.

Well the car is deffinatly feeling better the more I drive it. Took it out tonight and put around 80 miles on it. How long should I wait to get re dynoed? Is there a certain time it takes for the PCM to learn the new intake?

The baseline dyno was not bad at all. Curious to see how much you'll gain with the intake.

Not right away. If I can get my hands on a Maft translator or something cheap like that to tune the a/f I will. I am gonna wait for a tune until I am done with all the bolt ons.

Well just got back from the dyno again. Must say I am impressed. The car made 322 and 331 this time with the LS6 intake and TB bypass the only changes.

Picked up 24hp and 21ftlbs from a LS6 intake. It picked up power throughout the power band as well. Cant wait to hit the track. Its still running hight 11's A/F. Think with the A/F around 13.0 I would pickup another 10 ponies or so.

Great gains there, ls6 intake still the best bang for the buck mod.

We shall see. I just swapped a Typhoon style intake onto my T/A and thats why I had a LS6 intake to use on the vette. If the Typhoon makes more power then the the LS6 did on the Vette then I would say a typhoon intake is probably the best bang for the buck since they can be had for under 300.00 brand new. Hopefully I will be getting retuned and dynoed this week in the Trans Am and we shall see.

Pretty good gains for an intake.

Where'd you see the typhoon intake for under 300 bucks? I can only find it for around the same price as the ls6 intake (~$500)
