Default dyno #s with a bolt on A4

Ok Car is a 98 with 88K miles. Mods are: Lid,S2 TB,Hooker LT into duals with an X-pipe, TR55 with MSD wires, GTP pig cam 226/591 112 with 918s, TCS 4400.

My car still has the LS1 intake and stock pulley. Also before i was going to get dynoed i was about to buy a 3.42 rear end, but the buyer backed out so I still had my 2.73s (yes it's a little loose), but i am getting 3.42 in a little while.

My pull had to start at about 90+mph on the dyno. People that were up at the dyno day were saying that the 2.73s are killing my converters efficiency. I know that dyno numbers don’t mean anything and I read the tread about low dyno numbers, but what do yall think about these numbers? Thanks

Well, for starters you are lucky it held together at 7200rpm on the dyno.

high stall converters make dynoing difficult. It is incredibly difficult to prevent the car from downshifting.

it looks like he locked up the convertor on the big end which screws up the rpm sensor on a dynojet. i have locked up mine and the limitor was set at 6900 rpms yet the dyno showed 7200 rpms. just an observation. every big convertor car has problems with kick down mph, esp 2.73 geared cars.

Do you mean in messes with the rpm because of the change in rpm's right as the converter locks? I plan to use edit to run locked all through 3rd gear. (and prevent donwshifting via edit too).

I don't understand why it the graph just slopes down. The graph should have a slope going up, not down! I know the cam that I have makes power in the upper rpm, but why is it not showing this?

I dont know man but I think your car has some serious issues to be pulling those numbers with a cam
