Default These numbers ok?

I just had my car tuned. complete bolt on ms3 cammed (ls6 intake, Ud pulley, msd wires, ported tb, lid, true duals, true 3" chambered exhaust, pacesetter shitty headers) 98 ls1 m6 numbers where 348/336 on a mustang. They say their dyno reads an avg. 12-13% lower than most dynojets. How much more power am I looking at by switching to 243's and how much by switching to 1/78 headers?

That is one stingy dyno. A good set of ported 243s would help alot. My car gained 48rwhp going from the stock 98 head to the prc 2.5's.

Yes it is lol. He said a stock ls1 usually Dynos anywhere from 270-290 so I made great improvement over stock but I was still hoping for a little more I don't have the money for heads because I just did the whole build it was bone stock in November. I have a local guy that does great bench porting do you think it would be worth it to have him port a set of 799's or should I just throw a 150 shot to it. You can definetly tell the heads where holding it back because even with the ms3 it started dying at 6200rpm

Thats crazy low, but if stock M6 fbodies are dynoing below 290 on that dyno then you'd probably see a 20-30whp increase on a less stingy dyno assuming your tune is good along with everything else. I would try to get it strapped down on another dyno just to compare cause those numbers are extremely low for your mods. Run it at the track to really get the best idea of where you're at.

With either the 799's or 243's it will be a great compliment to that MS3 cam. Yeah don't sweat the numbers...case in point: When I got my new motor tuned it made 420 rwhp n/a on a very stingy Mustang dyno, but apparently it's strong enough to run with a ported/pullied 03 Cobra...see what i'm saying lol

So I heard from someone that's been there multiple times with multiple cars and he told me it reads 15% low so that makes my numbers 400/386 do those sound better?

Track results are what matter. Here's one for you...I have a similar setup. I made 401whp on a Mustang dyno. Then I got another tune done on a Dynojet and made 390hp. After reading all the dyno comparisons on here, I was mad. Well, apparently the Dynojet I was on is a real heartbreaker because despite running lower numbers on a supposedly more generous dyno.. the car consistently traps 2mph better.
Trap speed at the track doesn't lie.

MS3 cam isnt a small cam and he has a good amount of bolt ons as well. 380 would be decent but anything below that is still low for an M6 car. Seen smaller cams do 375-385 on supposedly stingy dynos.

Your right i forgot he is a M6 car as well they do put more down than an auto :/ like me. So 400ish hp and 380wtrq is probably if he gets a good tire and can shift right then hes in the mid 11s to high 11s from what ive been told on here

With stock gears and drag radials I think 11.6-11.9 depending on elevation, track conditions, and your driving. I'd think a set of 3.90 or 4.10 gears and some suspension work would probably put you in the 11.1-11.4 range.

My 99 z28 put down 377 with an MS3, Pacesetters, and a cutout. Stock everything else. I'd say your dyno is just stingy. I bet it will run pretty well.

I ALWAYS get before and after numbers on a dyno tune. At the end of the day a dynomometer is a tool for tuning. Heads should net a healthy gain.
