Default finally hit the rollers

1997 chevy truck AES 390 shortblock, Brute speed blower cam, stock 317 heads, stock intake, 1 3/4 longtubes, 3200 stall+ 4l80e, ford 9", 60lb injetors

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...l80e-swap.html

truck made 480/410 with an F1-A strapped on at a little over 11 lbs, planning on upgrading injectors since they are maxed at 60 psi. also gonna change to a holey hi-ram and some ported 317s. any other ideas? i was hoping it had more in it honestly but i know now what to work on so i'm happy about that.

That is low boost for a F1...pulley down and more injector! Numbers are probably about right considering drive train losses.

Was the converter locked or unlocked? If unlocked the numbers are always going to be very low with a loose converter. Bob

so any ideas why its only 480 hp? anything to look for? going of the injector calculator those injectors should have me well over 500 to the wheels, so i guess something else is stopping me somehow. new br7ef plugs gapped at .027 before the pulls and msd wires checked the resistance and it was like 40 ohms on them all.

what can i check for or does that seem right?

for reference my truck put down 512rwhp on a mustang dyno on 9lbs I'm running a D1SC with a stock lower end Lq4 ported 243s custom grind blower cam 10.4.1 compression i know that number is low gotta be mid 5xx range

I'm running single walbro 450 with 85lbs fic injectors

i just did a IW 8 RIB setup 10% overdriven crank pulley with meth injection truck is a animal now I'm guessing seat of pants its gotta be in the 6xx range now

Trying to figure out why your dyno numbers are low is going to be nearly impossible. We have no idea what is typical of that dyno for starters.

How much timing were you running? Are you on 93 only? It looks like you are still pretty rich. Try to target about 11.8 or so. I know the procharger makes boost progressively, but I would target somewhere in the ballpark of 11.8 on the top end as you make the most boost. generally you can afford to lean it out a little after your peak tq... but for you boost continues to build. If it was my truck I would have it set to 12.2 or so phasing down to 11.8 by 4500 RPM and holding that stead as revs and boost climb. At your compression and that boost level I wouldn't be surprised to see 15* timing as well.

Do you have HPT? Do you have any logs or a tune you can post?

I think you need more header. I wouldn't run a 1-3/4" primary on an N/A 390ci. But see what it does when you fix the fuel.
