Default New SLP Header/OR-Y Dyno #s

Car is a 2002 Z28 A4. Previous best dyno was 320rwhp/327rwtq SAE with a TSP lid, home ported MAF, home ported TB, cutout (open) and Vig 3500 converter. A/F ratio on that pass was 13.4:1 straight across. Also, the MAFT settings were 5% rich base and 2% rich at WOT added.

Installed the SLP "tuned length" or whatever coated longtubes and their 3" off road y-pipe into the stock catback. Picked them up for a good price from a friend who bought them about 3 years ago. Installation was a bitch, but they do fit well and hang a *tad* low, but nothing to worry about, car is stock height.

After dyno came up with a peak of 337.8rwhp/343.0rwtq SAE making a gain of right at 18rwhp and 16rwtq peak to peak. I haven't had a chance to overlay to two graphs to check midrange gains tho. Do these numbers seem ok? The A/F was a perfectly flat 12.8:1, MAFT settings were 0 and 0. Car is otherwise internally and externally stock. Also wondering if anyone thinks I can tune a little more into it? Car's never seen LS1 edit in it's life. Thanks for any replies.

Open, same way as before.

The actual rwhp was 271.x, corrected for SAE from Albuquerque.

As often as I read how bad these headers suck I was hoping for some more replies. Any advice??

With my Kooks headers and Magnaflow cats after ls1 edit tune I gained 24 rwhp & 15 rwtq. Don't know if that helps. 18 rwhp & 16rwtq seems right.

I have a '99 T/A and I gained 20RWHP from my FLP LTs, considering that the '01s and '02s have better manifolds from the factory than the previous years I think your results are pretty good...Stout numbers for an A4.

I think somethings wrong with that graph. I thought all graphs were surpose to cross at 5200 rpms? That torque curve is weird also..not very flat.

The dyno starts right after the shift point, which begins basically at my torque peak...what you're seeing is the decline of the torque after 4000rpms. Also the indicators on the sides of the graph are different for the HP (left side) and the Torque (right side).

niphilli--Thanks. I was basically wondering if there could be any more had from them. Perhaps a 2% lean from the MAFT (it's all I have) or playing with timing? After I bought them all I would read is how they suck, and that got me skeptical of what the gains were. Didn't know how good those gains really are.

My car went extremely rich after the LT headers were installed, I ended up taking out something like 8% fuel . Every car is different though your A/F looks right on the money and I would leave it as is. Put some miles on the car and re-check it. You will need to get ahold of ATAP or do a wideband scan on the dyno to know for sure. With ATAP scan B1S1 & B2S1 and tune them to the neighborhood of 880-900 Mv. The timing on the '01 and up cars is very conservative so I am sure there is quite a bit on the table from a good tune & bumping the timing a little.
