with an s10 you will roll out pretty hard through a th350 if you go with the right converter. i would not get to cought up in making 500rwhp, but you will get pretty close. well off in 10s on motor should not be a problem and probably 9s on motor with an s10

I had an 82 s10 witha 347 ls. 11.8/compression with a eps 238/250 cam . I never got to finish it beforeI got rid off it. Guy who I sold to went 9.75 on motor and sprayed 175 next pass without tuning and blew it apart.

Started a new thread instead of updating like a noob. Sorry about that. So I just got my cam specd by Martin (236/252) (624/621) 112+5. It's a 2000 s10 a little heavier than the older ones. But light nonetheless, and I weigh 120.

Another update: Ordered Michigan Motors ports upgraded rockers, and looking to order the cam tomorrow.

That's a great cam spec and Martin knows how to design cams like nobody else. I still suspect you're going to hit your number as much from RPM as from the height of the torque curve. If your power peaks north of 6500, you'll likely clear 500

Gonna be hard to get that kind of number on a dyno with the drivetrain behind it. The truck will run hard nonetheless, but it won't be a dyno queen.

Personally I would run a bigger bore than the stock 4"...especially with those heads. Even a 4.030 bore will make the big valved LS3s breathe alot better and you can safely do that on an iron even with nitrous down the road.

Just a really big budget build. If I had the money I'd stroke the motor. I just waited for good prices, and opportunities. I only work 20 hours a week at $10 lol. It's taken me awhile to get the parts, bUT I'd rather do it once right and not have to do it again. I was just hoping to make near 500hp and spray if necessary. I got the Ls3 heads for free from a buddy, and I just had to pay $200 to get them rebuilt. I had luck and found good prices on many of the parts. But other then that, I've been saving for about 6 months. Now all I really need for the truck is the cam, fuel system, and machine work. But all comes in time. I'm part time worker, and a full time student. I understand power isn't cheap, but I was hoping to make the most out of my circumstance.

Is the plan for the truck to be street or to be a drag? Based on that is where I would choose a cam. If you go too big of a cam the drivability of the truck on the street will be gone. I think you should be able to clear 500, make sure you get a worthy tune on the truck to squeeze the most performance out of the truck.

It's a carb truck and it should be 50/50. It'll see the track once or twice a month. Other than that it'll be for the street. I have a high tolerance for "streetability" so I'm not sure how much it'll impact me. I spoke to Martin and described my goals are no he gave me the spec.

I told him if it made 450+ on the dyno through an unlocked stall I'd be happy.

With the compression it has, he might be able to come close to 600 crank.

Thannk you again Martin! Just ordered the cam. I'm happy regardless tbh. Just to know how close I am to finishing the build gets me excited. I have a wall full of car parts in my room getting ready lol. All I need left is the ARP rod bolts I think. It's going to be a fun truck, can't wait to here the cam in the enclosed campus garage lol.

Not sure why everybody wants to run a 100.00 set of lifters....at least spend 185.00 and get the 5315 Morel, 2110 Johnson would be even better if you are staying hydraulic.

If you go LLSR you will for sure need different lifters.

I was told to go Ls7 lifters since the motor is stock bore stock stroke. Idk, a lot of people said the Ls7 lifters would get the job done fine.

I tend to agree with Kinglt-1. I really prefer the Morel 5315's, especially with the real deal LS7 lifters being around 170-180 dollars a set now. The 2110R Johnson is another one of my favorites.

Not a problem, but where did you order the cam from? I don't think I have an order from you?

I do not, just a Facebook page. It all worked out in the end as Cam Motion is going to give me credit for the sale.

It's OK, mistakes happen! I was just thinking to myself, "Man this guy took my cam specs and bought them somewhere else!"

You would be surprised how much that happens too sadly enough...

I'm so sorry, I'm glad they are. Are you going to make the cam? I was thinking the same. I wouldn't want you to think I just took them like that.
