Default dynacom dyno

I had my car tuned on a dynocom dyno which i read out of all dynos reads the highest numbers. It was wideband tuned 12.7afr to 6000rom. The shifts were kept stock as he ran it to see where its at and power didnt increase at above 6000rpm. He said on the dyno could only run it to 140mph so 5500 rpm. Heres the results 12.7 afr and 96% duty cycle stock injectors.
I have a 99 corvette stock 3.15s and converter. Only mods are volant intake filter, tsp headers and elgin 1839 cam 220/224. How do these dynos compare to dynojet and mustang dyno.

My dynocom dyno reads the same as another dynojet I compared numbers to. Every dyno has to be properly calibrated so just because its "x" brand doesnt mean its reading correct. Every mustang dyno I have ever used has been calibrated to read similar to a dynojet because they read lower.

volant intake filter,
tsp headers
elgin 1839 cam 220/224
stock converter

~369 whp sounds with in reason pretty good for the cam @ ~5,500 rpm to me.

The 96 kpa, car will probably gain some with a Fast 90/92 intake manifold & TB.

May i ask if everything looks correct or tuned properly ive only had experience with a mustang dyno 6 speed 3.42s but smaller cam open hooker headers 375whp 375wtq The shop owner only ran it to 140mph on the dyno for the graph why its at 5500rpm but showed me where it was ran to 6k and tuned to 12.6-12.7afr. I didnt actually see the wideband when tuning. He said the cam wasnt making more power up top so left it at 6krpm shift points. Its 99 stock auto 3.15 gears converter with tsp headers,1839 cam, pac 1219s, volant 5123 air filter and descreened maf with the factory 2.5" h-pipe and stock mufflers. The car picked up some better throttle response at light throttle from descreening the maf and having it tuned. He assured me it was a safe tune someone else of hp tuners forum told me it looked like it was lean. Any idea what numbers these would be on a mustang dyno or dynojet? The only other experience ive had was similar but 98 6 speed z28 and 375whp 375wtq. Someone else told me the graph or tune looked lean why it doesnt have anymore horsepower up top but this is from 2011 with hooker open headers, small 218 bullit cam free mods ported throttled body 3.42s and other is s475 6lbs otherwise stock longblock 11.7 afr on my aem wideband. Im not sure how much power loss there is from the c5 diff to 7.5" 10 bolt and 6 speed vs 4l60e and 3.15 vs 3.42 gears. So is there anyway to convert that graph to a mustang dyno to see comparison i do want to swap some better mufflers i think will add 10hp and 3.90 gear.

what is 96 kpa the intake vacuum or map sensor reading?
He said throttle body, gear change small things he could adjust but if i swapped bigger injectors would require a retune. This is terrible i thought they'd only need to be rescaled and thrown in the tune file.
So according to the mustang dyno above the car would read 369whp but possibly on a dynojet? the above 98 z28 similar mods ran 114-116mph so i think the hp was there with a 6600 rev limiter where i usually shifted just before. Curious why the graph doesnt show the power climbing. He told me it had the eddiebrake to load it down so im not sure what the difference is.

To me the torque seems generous or the hp seems a bit low, I'd expect around 385 hp with that torque

You cant compare completely different setups on two different dynos. Kurts mustang dyno was calibrated to read like a dynojet. Back to your current dyno graph, it doesnt look like right and the torque is way off. A couple things can cause this, the car wasnt centered on the rollers good (only picks up speed from one set) or the rpm signal was off. Your graph should look more like the one from the mustang dyno just lower numbers. Just from a screen shot of hpt you cant tell if your tune is good.

You bet all the other ls tuning shops were busy at the time so i went to this one that could fit me in the soonest and was closer to where im at. Yes i figured as its the same ls1 engine with what i think is bigger sounding then the mustang dyno cam from the 98z28 the only valvetrain difference is pac-1219s vs manley dual springs. I think it should increase accordingly. The tuner didn't say much that thats where it made the most power so he left the rev limiter stock and shiftpoints at 6k and the car was tuned for 6k rpm ready for WOT 1/4 mile passes. You use the same dynocom dyno for tuning purposes? He also told me he could load it down and the tires wouldn't even move whatever that means. Are you suggesting the afr may be off or that timing is not enough? The car runs great where as the stock tune with the descreened maf it had a part throttle deadspot. I feel it runs similar to the stock cam at low rpm after haveing the tune but without MT streets its hard to track or 1/4 mile. I was told the tune wasn't locked but is there anyway to take a look at it? They do only ls vehicles or lsx swapped vehicles and told me the tune was all set. I went in for the appointment to have it tuned and didn't mention anything other then the injectors duty cycle and watched him wideband tune it out the exhaust i asked too about the dyno graph he just told me the cam stopped making power there.

100 kpa is normal atmospheric pressure.

96 kpa indicates less than atmospheric pressure in the intake manifold. So there some restriction.

Dyno numbers are interesting etc, but measuring change & tuning are main benefits.

Time to enjoy your Corvette after all the hard work!

I have a dynocom 7500 which is a big single roller dyno like a dynojet 224x. I used a dynocom 5000 series like what yours was tuned on for years though. I have no idea if your tune is off or not, would have to the see tune and data logs. Im saying your dyno graph is off but it could easily just be from how they strapped the car or how they were getting the rpm signal. Just because the dyno graph is off doesnt mean your tune is off but with a graph like yours I woudnt trust the numbers very much. The high torque reading a dead giveaway the numbers arent right.

Well i decided m going to purchase a wideband to confirm the afr is 12.6-12.7 TOPS at WOT all the way to 6k rpms. I can't confirm they tuned it to that as i didnt see the afr gauge they stuck in exhaust port when tuning. However he told me exhaust wouldnt mess up the tune i went ahead and added some exhaust vs the factory c5 corvette mufflers. Another local dyno shop told me the graph looked bizarre and all graphs usually incline to 6k even stock cammed or smaller cams and showed me one of their dynojet 340hp graphs with an incline similar to the mustang dynotune i had in 2011. I may do the wideband and also try a different shop for 3 dyno pulls with afr logging for 150$ with their dynojet graphs to get some real numbers and to confirm the other shop that tuned the car indeed put it 12.6-12.7 MAX afr anything 13s and above is lean and will damage engine and not make any power. 12.7 is optimum afr for na motor. I told them if anything make it 12.5 just not over 12.7 afr. Had to get rid of those nasty stock oval tips round tips look much better.

Yes i tried a different shop with a normal dynojet 248. AFR was 12.5 all the way to 6k what it was tuned for and 349whp/351wtq. It is missing the 25% ud pulley if that does actually help with 10+hp my 98 6 speed z28 had similar mods with 375/375.

This tuner dont want to mention names Henderson performance seems like he knows what hes doing said it could run with 243s not needing a retune when i asked if it would need a retune depending how the previous dynotuner set it up. Could run richer or could run leaner. I read somewhere some cars ran better with a 13 AFR just depends on the setup. When i asked if a gear change 3.42 3.73 3.90s would make it dyno higher he didnt really give me a for sure answer. I know the car runs quicker better gearing not sure either engine still being the same modifications just extra gearing.
Was mainly to confirm afr and use a more common dyno said it looked good and like i was all set.
