Default Looking for mild cam suggestions. 228rish..

Been looking to get some extra powers outa the Ole T/A. Seen alot of the 228r clips. Just wondering what I could expect, if anyone had ran this cam or something around the same size? Plans right now would be just cam, headers, exhaust, before tune. Is that a decent plan or should I push to get heads and a bigger throttle body, if so is which direction would be the most budget friendly while also pushing good numbers.

Guess I should add, it's an 01 Ws6, Ls1, M6. Mostly gets road driven but we take it on alot of day trips through the hills and even some longer vacations so I'd rather not completely kill my mpg if at all possible.

Figure out how you are going to handle getting it tuned before you turn the first bolt. Too many people cam first and ask about tuning later, only to be sorely disappointed with an ill running motor that is slower than when they started. Then they get ripped off by the first "tuner" they find in a google search.

I have an original BTR stage 2 cam which is pretty close in specs to the Titan 4.

Torquer V2 is my go to Ls1 cam. I've put several in, good all around cam for a driver and makes good power.

i used to run an old Comp grind in my '01 LS1 before they gave them all "cool" names lol, it was a 228/236 .598"/.601" 112 LSA and when i sold my ls1 and built my 6.0 i actually put that same cam in my rec port 6.0 and it ran 7.1 @98mph 1/8 in a 3450lb car

you absolutely need a tune after a cam though, where your LS1 is an '01 you should already have the ls6 intake and better 241 heads so i would leave those alone for now
