Default FMS F4 Cam dyno

I was a little dissapointed in my low dyno numbers with the F4 cam;

Before cam: 326rwhp/330rwtq

After cam and AP pulley: 350rwhp/330rwtq (30* timing, 13.0 AFR, 0 knock)

Now this doesnt tell the whole story. their is a lot of hp under the curve, but not as much tq. I guess the real story will unfold at the track.

What else is everyone putting down with this cam??

You have an automatic with a stall.. numbers don't sound THAT bad... You might pick up another 5rwhp+ with a ported t.b. Like you said, I'd take it to the track.

This cam put down 366rwhp unlocked and 400 rwhp 388 tq locked in a bolt on car. I dont remember what the tq was unlocked, I can look tomorrow. Im assuming your numbers were unlocked?

Yeah, it looks like it makes good power up top (about the same under 4.8K). I just ordered a cutout to see if that helps any.

Candy, those numbers are unlocked. I guess I am not too worried as long as I get some decent times out of it.

It is tuned pretty good with negative Ltrims at part throttle, 13.0 AFR at WOT, 30* timing, and 0 KR.

I will ask my buddy, but I think he was right at 400rwhp with his A4 with a huge stall and the FMS-4 cam.

I would shoot myself If I saw that I had gained 0 tq from a cam swap. 330 is horrid for a converter car.

I gained over 25 hp with a cutout versus a stock exhaust. 381 hp with a 224 cam only car and only 354 with the cutout closed.

i agree. with a big stall auto you would think there would be a lot more torque.

Was it a Mustang dyno or a Dynojet?

Like I said the peak numbers dont tell the whole story. Under the curve the torque extends out much further in the rpm range (probably gained 30rwtq under the curve).

This was done on a dynojet. Gears are 3.42.

See my signature. However, the before cam install #s were 350hp 372tq. And... my closed cutout numbers were 368hp and 364 tq. I emailed Futural Motors in regards to the torque numbers (or lack thereof) and they did not respond. I had it LS1 Edit tuned by one of our sponsors. The torque curve takes a nosedive at 5000 rpms, but the hp remains high and flat through 6500.

DD966, your gains seem to be inline with what I saw.
