Default Going back to dyno tomorrow for retune with LS6

Just put the ls6 intake on a couple of weeks ago. I made 383/365 before. We'll see what this intake is worth on my set up. 224/228 581 112 cam and see sig. Headed back to CarolinaAutomasters Jeff Creech in Durham NC. I saw where someone posted 24rwhp gain with just this intake on www.ls1howto.com intake swap section, seemed kind of like really high to me. I'll be lucky to see 10rwhp I'm sure but every hp helps.

I'm guessing you'll hit about 395. I just put a cam in my car and still need to put an ls6 intake on, so I'm interested in your results.

I wish I had a ported Janzter TB, but the money runs out at some point. I also put a homemade plate in the Borla with about 4 holes drilled in it. I need the Borla plate with the smallest hole in it. The thing is gross loud and tractor sounding between 2000-3000 rpms with the plate I had in it. Many have said the plates make no difference, possiblility of making more torque with a restrictive plate in.

The LS6 intake is usually worth 10-15rwhp on a cammed stock headed LS1. Don't be suprised if you make or break 400rwhp after tuning. As to the ported TB, it can easily be accomplished yourself if you have a little know how and alot of elbow grease. There are some very good writeups floating around here also. You'll want to have your exhaust as free as possible to make power. I've heard alot of people saying you need backpressure to make torque, pure BS I made 386rwtq on stock heads with my TR224 with LT's ORY and open cutout and there's no backpressure there! Let us know your results.

Ok. I put in a homemade solid plate with 4 holes drilled in it before going tonight. Don't know what affect it had. My before SAE corrected #'s June 21st were 383.5 rwhp, 363.2 rwtq on a dynojet. Tonight I made 391.7/374.0. Those are real #'s, no tricks of any kind. Now, actual #'s before were 379.8/359.7 in about 90 degree weather. I believe it was high 60's this evening and the actual #'s were 402.5 rwhp, 384.4 rwtq. A/F was right at 13.1/1. I may try to scan the dyno sheet to show how smooth my curves were. The power increase starts around 3000 and gradually expands to 6500 and appears much smoother above 5600.

My next mods are a ported stock TB or whatever TB is the shaznat for a ls6 and the old coolant bypass mod. I believe that's about all I'll do. Time to save for a 12 bolt.
