That's cool, I understand. There are people who have said things like that on this board, though, and I was really more speaking against the attitude and not the speaker (i.e. you)

That's a good thing to point out about dyno variance. Of course this should only be 10 hp or so, unless somebody is up to some kind of shenannigans.

i've also seen some lower HP cars beat cars that had more HP,at least on paper.
Right, but things like this can be chalked up to gears, driver skill, car weight, etc. If a dyno says that a car is down on power, the good money is on that car being down on power. Even if it does run better than "car x" at the track, it still isn't a good idea to ignore the dyno. It's never a good idea to ignore the facts.

thanks for calling me stupid,lol.
LOL, I was just referring to that smiley face with the sign. I hope you didn't take me seriously there. If so sorry.

Not trying to be a dick, but aren't track numbers factual? Which one would you rather have - better track times, or higher dyno numbers? You have to pick one in this case.

Track times certainly are factual, and I don't advocate ignoring them at all. But the track is a much, much less controlled environment. It adds the variables of temperature, altitude, traction, driver skill, etc, etc, etc. What you are trying to achive - your end goal - is track times: winning races. But the dyno can tell you things about how your car is running that you wouldn't know from the track. You might run a certain time at the track, and say "hey, that's good!" but the dyno may tell you that something is wrong, and your car is actually capable of going MUCH quicker and that you should get it fixed. Of course, the reverse may happen: which might tell you that you need to learn how to DRIVE.

I am not saying that the GOAL is good dyno numbers: that attitude is retarded.

I am by no means a tuning expert, but can someone explain how the bad O2 affects WOT dyno numbers, especially ones with a damn near perfect a/f ratio. It is my understanding, as it was someone elses earlier in the post, that the computer does not even look at the O2's in WOT conditions. Now granted, if he had been cruising around with a bad O2 for some time and the computer and learned it that way and made adjustments based on the bogus fuel trims it received, then I could see it having an effect. But, then again would that not throw off is a/f ratio that was monitored during the dyno session.
The only ways I can see that it would have effected his numbers is if he is running true duals, and the side with the bad O2 was on the opposite side from where the exhaust was taken for the O2 reading on the dyno. Consequently resulting in one side being almost perfect, and the other all out of whack. That is unless the O2 also affects the timing tables or something like that, but then again, it ignores the O2 during WOT, so it would have to be some sort of learned behavior.
Or the bad O2 sent into some sort of limp mode, in which case he has one B/A car to make 372 HP in limp mode ??? where are our tuning experts???

Good question. I really don't know what the o2's do at WOT. I was just told that my bad o2 had something to do with the numbers, along with not having the rest of the boltons at the time.

Really those numbers are fine, if he gets that pulley he'll be around 380 or so. every car is different.
Now, if you dynoed 350 @ the wheels, you might have accientlly put in the Hot Cam instead of the 231/237. or a problem.

His stock HP #'s may have been lower than others

Yeah, I never got a "stock" pull to have a baseline to compare to either.

Dont worry about it much Brad, alot of the people bashing your numbers probably didn't take a lot of factors into consideration. Type of Dyno, fan in front of the car or not, the fact you are on 18's, bad 02's, conservative tune, no LS6 intake, no TB, no pulley, the year of your car, and mileage. Track numbers are what count, not dyno numbers.

Hey, I took it back with due consideration. Oh, and no LS6 intake? How the hell didn't I notice that before? Well, that seals it. You're right on.
