what the hell is wrong with my car?
280ish after a grand of parts\labor?
what the hell. 80k on the clock, A4 car.
Something isnt right. The dyno-dude said the numbers were about right for an A4, but looking around here, i see people with just lids making around 290hp on a MD.
This dis-hearts me =(
I guess i got a real factory freak. I guess i have the Shortbus LS1.

here's the dyno. dyno 2 is hood closed. dyno 4 is hood open. yes, the hood costs you about 18 rwhp. too bad we can't drive with it up!!! should dyno car with hood closed. that way you see the rwhp you will have going down the track. of course, no one would want any lower numbers, now would they?

then here's after the plugs and wires.
dyno 4 3rd gear hood open as above
dyno 5 new plugs and wires
dyno 6 150 n2o
Not something to show off (not all the time =))

Now, granted, they were 2 different dynos, but I was NOT pleased. They were also NOT Mustang dynos, for whatever that is worth. Then I went back to the place I got my pre-header/exhaust dyno at and saw an increase from 345/358 to 357/367.......and THEN I found out that the 1st time I dyno'd there they did it in "Standard" ratings instead of SAE which is what the dyno-tune dyno was done in as well as the 2nd dyno at the 1st place.
Were both your dyno runs done at the same place? Check your printouts, they should say on there somewhere if it is S.A.E. or standard.........but still, like the last guy said, a 20 hp increase isn't bad at all. I also think that a "real" catback is a better choice then just a Flowmaster muffler, but to each, their own.
Also, another thing to remember is this:
Dyno numbers are just that, numbers. The REAL proof of a car's speed is at the track..........my buddy picked up 7/10's after doing LT's, catted-Y, ported Throttle Body & a dyno-tune, so numbers on a dyno are not the end all answer to a car's performance. (I am sure he got better at driving in between the 2 runs at the track, but since they are his ONLY 2 times at the track, it was impressive nonetheless.
Run your car at the track and see what kinda numbers she gets.........I know guys who dyno at 290 that run 13-13.1's all the time at sea level.
