You should gain power on the break in, but I deffinatlly would have expected more. Your torque looks awesome. It's not often that you see the TQ up there with the HP. I'm interested to see the graph and what the curve looks like.

It's hard for me to tell also since i have not seen the dyno sheet, But i do want to see what's going on.
I know i ordered my cam as a 112lsa+ 2 and it came as a 112lsa+4 so i might go in and degree the cam back 2 degree's. I guess when i see the dyno graff i'll Know more

Looking through your mod list I don't see cutouts. Did you dyno with them? Regardless your numbers are normal for a 408. Not super high, Not super low but right in the middle.

Mike K. No cutout's but it's a true dual x-pipe

kumar75150 I am not sure of exact comp ratio. But i think it's about 11.3-1
maybe someone can figure it out
pistons have 2 1/2 valve reliefs and heads are milled to 69cc's
Any thoughts on if i degree back my cam 2 degree's
I think TTP set my rev limter at 6800rpm but i might ask for that to be raised cause i think with my cam size it should make power up there if i retard the cam. I too want to see the graff before i start tinkering with to many idea's

There is nothing wrong with your numbers. They look good, but a dynograph would be good to see.

It seems to me that most other cars with 400+ cubes and AFR 225's are making upwards of 550 rwhp. I could understand if his cam was a smaller, emmisions friendly cam, but its really kinda large. It also looks as if he has most of the supporting mods, so I don't get it.

the numbers are good numbers..there is no doubt. With a port job on the heads or maybe a higher flowing head should wake that beast right up!!!

Your cam is quite radical...its doing its job but you might need more intake flow.

But dont be discouraged.....my initial numbers were 427rwhp (A4) but that was with a STOCK ls1 intake. All you need is to get it worked out but you should be happy...which i know you are....!!!!!!

Dude, what springs are you running? i need a set of those!!!!

Most 402/408s with AFR 225s with FAST 90 and 1-7/8" headers and 250 deg cams are around 515-530. I haven't seen much more than that, and he doesn't have full 1-7/8" headers.

Retarding the cam will help a bit, but your numbers are on the lower end of what's expected. Compression is probably too low for that big of a cam, especially with the 4 degrees of advance. I would have milled down to 66cc at least, but even then, that'd only be good for maybe 10rwhp.

#'s are alot of times inflated to sell stuff on the internet, In my own experience destroyers 408 put down some good #'s
