Trying to squeeze out a few extra horses. Well i got a dyno tune the other day and i got 265hp and 295 ft/lbs of torque, with an AFR of about 13.0 across the board and tappers off to a 12.8 at about 5400 RPM. Thats about as much as he could get on the tune. I have a 96 SS A4 with pacesetter longtube headers, a stock catback, an open 3" electric cutout, a moroso cai, and a few other none performance mods. Im running 91 octane here in Nebraska. I was wondering what other things i could do to get some more horses. I would like to get above 300 hp. The guy at the dyno said something about locking up the TC and doing a 3rd gear pull. He said i should see an extra 10 hp there. Are there any tire tricks like over or under inflateing the tires. Im on crappy stock tires now. Can i run with the belt off. Ive heard there are a couple horses there. What else can i do to see max hp.
Yes he tuned mine he is a very good guy. Locking the converter will yeild more and over inflating the tires will reduce the rolling resistance but which is minimal on those rollers.To achieve over 300 you are looking at a cam... just my .02
