My brother just put down 380 hp and 355 tq with a 355. He has all bolt-ons except a pulley and a larger tb. His heads are almost identical to yours on the flow #'s (port pro's down in Austin did a great job) and he is still running a tiny HOT CAM. After a gm 847 cam, 52mm tb, and a pulley he's planning on 420 or so to the wheels. He has my old car from HS and it does my heart good to see the ol' LT1 puttin down good #'s. Im really going to have to work hard to play catch up.

My heads/cam stock bottom-end lt1 made 350-something with a mail-order tune on a mustang dyno and it was with a mild 230/236 cam and a set of 'stage 2' cnc ported heads that flowed less than 260 cfm. That's through a 3200 stall and a 4l60e.

I loved my LT1, it's gonna be hard for me not to build another one. 411 RWHP for a 355 LT1 is very possible.

a comp 468 XFI cam:
Intake Duration at 050 inch Lift: 242
Exhaust Duration at 050 inch Lift: 248
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 242 int./248 exh.
Advertised Intake Duration: 292
Advertised Exhaust Duration: 300
Advertised Duration: 292 int./300 exh.
Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.584
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.579
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.584 int./0.579 exh. lift
Lobe Separation (degrees): 113

I bet its a screamer. Its valve events look to rival that of a TRex. That cam is similar to whats in my 383 at .050 but has MUCH more aggressive lobes with more lift.

My current dyno numbers are in my sig but I did witness an m6 put down 408 rwhp this weekend. I believe he had Lingenfelter heads and an 847 cam.

Thats very possible my old LT1 setup now mind you was a 383 but very simular head flow and a 248-252 578-598 and made 454rwhp and 428rwhp motor and 676rwhp and 842 with 200 shot of spray. A 355 is a screamer and can make some serious power. Another friend of mine has a 355 that just made 460's rwhp with a solid roller setup so its not a bad motor to say the least. Only problem with the Lt1 is the damn opti I replaced about 5 or 6 on mine and said to hell with it. LS all the way now

Uh, thats very possible. If I put those heads on my car, I'd probably make more than that.

Seems perfectly believable to me advanced induction has packages that put out way more than that, so does Loyd Elliot and alot more people.

Look at my sig!

It really is amazing how the LS1 crowd views the LT1... Come down off your high horses, your not the only V8 that makes power!

But most of the time I find myself saying "Damn... I wish I had a LS1"

You guys really should pay more attention to LT1s. You'd be surprised how many h/c cars are putting down 420+ rwhp and how many strokers are putting down 430+ rwhp.

We have had a heads/cam car put down 452 through an auto. that was locked up though. I think it was 430ish unlocked. I have a 6 speed 355 doing 476 through a 9" and 4.71 gears. That number is very doable. I know it amazes most ls1 people but other motors can make power also. give me a 15 deg. head like the ls1 have from the factory I could make some crazy numbers.

Very possible.. I like the fact that a lot of ls1 owners think the Lt1's are junk, it really works out to my bennifit sometimes. It does suck that it takes us heads/cam to make what you guys make cam only, but oh well.

Your buddy has a **** combo...340-360rwhp can be achieved with decent cam only setup. Was your buddy running a hotcam or something?

411 thru an auto is stout...but achieveable.
