Should have the new cam in by Sat, get it put in this weekend and see what happens. Will let everyone know then. Man I want 470 or better rwhp. I had a **** load of TRQ, just not enough RWHP!

Didn't dyno mine with my old setup, but the track times and setup are in the sig.
Have a new set of heads on the way from my head porter that are based on a better core and Kooks 1-7/8 to 2" stepped headers. I'll get dyno numbers when I get it back together.

Well I have a FMS408ci of almost 2 years now if I remember correctly. 6.0L FMS/Meaux heads with 11.75 to 1 compression and 2.05 x 1.60 valves. You can see my dyno's in two cars.. F-body and Y-body...

No electric water pump or shortbelt mod. Small mixture of 104 octane with a huge mixture of 93 octane just for safety purposes. Now dont forget my heads are like 3 FMS updates behind.

Damn, i would expect to see higher numbers than this. It's almost making me not want to do a 402/408. What gives with all these low numbers. Some people are claming 5XXrwhp+/48Xrwtq+. I've personnaly seen my buddies SLP 402 put down 487rwhp487rwtq with an X3 and AFR 225's. He doens't even have the fast set up. This is also on a C5 M6 so that could be some of the reason. Most of the replys have been A4's. I can't think of why a more agressive set up can't make more. This was also done on 91 octane. To be honest my car only makes 414rwhp/385rwtq (cam only 228/232 .579 @ 112 lsa) so i would pretty damn happy with 480/480.

people also need to realize a dyno is a dyno.... a car performing on the concrete/asphalt is totally different....
track times tell the story about HP because as said before dynos are all different....
as for the post above you cant go wrong with more cubes

Thats a nice time for all motor first time out.
We should have new dyno results for beards 408 with the current cam next week. We just ordered a sweet pro torque converter. To get rid of the old Vig 3800.

I have ordered a FAST 90 intake and NW TB for my setup. I am anxious to see how much I pick up after porting the new intake. My setup does not have a short belt, or electric water pump either. It's all in the parts combination. The heads have to flow insanely, the intake has to flow insanely, and the exhaust has to flow insanely. To get the high numbers, the budget of the build will climb quickly. A set of 1-7/8" headers will do wonders for HP, but they cost an arm and a leg.
I put down 522RWHP with a FAST 78mm intake and a BBK 80MM throttle body with adapting spacer. After I get my 90MM intake, I will port it and install it with the NW throttle body. Then I'll take it to the dyno and get the new numbers. This should be some great info for you 408 guys wanting to know how much power it's worth.

We made 513/494 the other day on one of our 408's in a customers car (M6).
Combo:
408 (Eagle crank, Crower sportsman rods, Diamond pistons)
Custom 246/250 .630/.629 113+3
SSP/GTP-prepped 862 castings 2.055"/1.570" valves
Stock LS6 intake
Ported Stock TB
Stock bellows
Stock MAF
Beat up Kooks 1 7/8" headers
Custom 3" duals
Steel flywheel, steel DS, 12-bolt w/ 3.73's, chrome 18's, no dyno tricks. He needs a 90/90 setup bad and a bigger MAF to accompany it. It is a very streetable setup though. Hopefully he will take it to the track soon.
Looks like alot of you are making some real nice 408 #'s they are great motors.
