Thumbs up Bolt on dyno numbers

Car is a 2002 anniversary edition SS M6 with only 3400 miles on the odometer.

Mods are: FTRA, SLP lid, Holley Powershot filter, PACE 85mm MAF, Shaner S3 TB, 160* thermostat, ASP underdrive pulleys (crank and alternator), Magnaflow catback, throttle body bypass.

Stock tune put down 328.38 RWHP and 357.74 RWTQ (torque spike) SAE corrected.

After Jeff at RPM tuned it, she put down 336.20 RWHP and 351.07 RWTQ (also SAE corrected). The peak numbers don't tell the whole story- the car picked up power everywhere from the tune, and the gains are the highest over 5500 RPM (past peak power).

I'm pretty happy considering my 99 SS only made 335 RWHP and 345 RWTQ with HEADERS AND A CAM.

Great job tuning by Jeff at RPM and Ryan has a great bunch of guys down there. Thanks to Jeff, Ryan, Dom, George (I think ), and the quiet guy who installed my UMI SFC's-they even fed me while I was down there!

Congrats. It's weird, these newer cars... 01' & 02' don't seem to gain much from a tune. My friend w/ an 01' WS6 gained a hair over 8 RWHP from a full tune. It picked up nicely under the curve and has no more detonation. He has: lid, LT's & ORY, Hooker cat back, TR55's & GMPP wires. It would almost seem as if the newer cars have a tune that works well with most bolt ons from the factory? Has anyone else experienced this? Or are these only two cases of such a thing?

My 00' Z28 got 24.5 Peak RWHP from an LS1 Edit tune. (Thank you Mike Norris) I had pretty much the same mods as my friend's 01' WS6, but my car is an A4 vs. his M6.

Yes, same here too, 8hp. Had my 02/SS/M6 dynotuned today. Mods-lid,filter,tr-55's, long tubes w/ORY into slp lm2. #'s before tune were 324 rwhp and 332.3 rwhp after tune(HP tuners). It was also 90-95 deg. in the shop...was hoping for at least 340.

Yeah, thanks man. I'm thinking Kooks. Headers should put me over 350 RWHP which is pretty stout internally stock.

I already got a cam for it, but now I am curious to see how far I can go internally stock.

Where did you dyno? Remember, there can be quite a bit of variance between one dyno and another- and that heat definitely hurt your numbers.

Dyno again on a cooler day, or first thing in the morning before it gets real hot and you will see better numbers.
