98 LS1 = Dyno pig? Is it true?? Im looking at a 98 Formula A4. Only mods are an SLP Lid and Flowmaster Cat Back. I know that the Flowmaster is garbage but, what do you guys think one of these shall dyno w/ the mods? Its an A4 w/ 3.23 gears and it has 120k miles. Any help/opinions would be great. Chris |
I'd say a little over 300. Obviously, every car is different though. |
my guess is 285...it has a lot going against it, its a 98, its an A4, it has a flowmaster, and it has 120k miles...a good combination for disappointing numbers IMO |
ya thats what im thinking ^^^ round 275-285 |
Originally Posted by bjamick ya thats what im thinking ^^^ round 275-285 What he said. With full boltons +062 VHP cam(210/218 @.551 on a 112 I only made about 330. We later changed out the cam to a TSP torquer V2 and it put down 350 rwhp. I recently add the TSP stage1 LS6 heads w/stock valves and we squeezed out 396RWHP.Which might not seem alot but the bitch ran a 60ft-----1.6751 1/8ET---7.6726 1/8mph--89.80 1/4et----12.0153 1/4mph--114.21 I wouldn't worry about what some dyno said. I would guage my performance on what kind of track time improvement/mph my car did on before/after you mod it. |

thanks for the responses guys, Im looking at buying the car to replace my 99 Z28. Yeah that flowmaster is getting yanked for sure. Im gonna fab it to fit on my 90 F-bird. |

my car with a ported tb, ftra, lid, & pulleys put down 292 at 100,000 through a 3600 yank/4l65e. |
My car put down 306whp untuned with a PTC 3500 stall with LT's. A4 cars just suck at the dyno. |

i put down 310 and 345 with 100000 |
My buddy's '98 M6 SS put down 310 with a lid and 4.10s at 100,000 miles. It probably would have been a little higher without the steeper gears. |
my 98 put down 325/333 with only longtubes and a lid through a 3500 stall with 3.23s. runs decent in the 1/4 too. |
My 98ss M6 put down 336/34x at East Side Performance with the following: CAI, QTP LTs, Catback, LS6 intake and obviously a tune. |

309hp/321tq, BONESTOCK 98 |

My 01 SS M6 with lid and cat-back put down 338hp/350tq and was somewhere in the 80,000 mile range, i didn't think that was to bad, oh and it does have an LS6 Block With same mods plus longtubes and ported TB it did 352hp/365tq :drive: |
