4:10 dyno question?

Question 4:10 dyno question?

I put down 308rwhp and 327tq with 4:10's in a m6 on a dynojet. Just curious to what it might be with stock 3:42's. I heard that you lose hp with 4:10's. Ran a 12.8 on street tires without pulley or gears. just wandering what i might be running with mickey drags, pulley and gears.

You don't "lose" power with 4:10's....you just "lose" a few number wise on the dyno.

I'd say you would have dynoed about 10-12 more if you still had the 3:42's....

not even that much, its more like 1-4 hp, its not much at all. Your gains in the ET's is where its at.

If I were you i'd look for a LS6 intake, I just did 324 rwhp with a only a SLP flowpack on a 02 t/a with a 6 speed. I'd swap back to a stock MAF I bet you migth actually gain power. Descreen it if anything.

A friend lost 12 RWHP when he did a gear swap. Same dyno, two days later.

Yeah, 'round 10 rwhp you lost. But the results are on the track, not the dyno. I would have dynoed over 400 rwhp, if not for the 4.10's. I don't care about the numbers, it's more about how much my *** gets mashed into the seat

not true at all. 4.10's to 3.42's adds around 12hp

the biggest difference I noticed was not in HP, but in foot pounds of torque...you know, that planting of the *** in seat stuff.

JMO but forget the dyno cause if you worry about 4:10 then dont use big sticky tires with low pressure either cause youll loose even more on the dyno and absolutely dont use a mustang dyno. Funny though even as you loose dyno HP you will probably drop to lower ET also ie the gears and sticky tires may drop your 60' by .2 to .4 which could almost double off your ET so you could hit mid to low 12's almost stock. That is pretty awesome!!!!!
