Default interpreting dyno numbers

Just an opinion but isnt listing dyno # without listing the brand of dyno sort of like listing a bone stock et but not mentioning you were on 104 race fuel? Anyone else have an opinion????

Well it's needed but that's a bad analogy; 104 could slow down a stock car or at least gain nothing.

I think more to the point listing your power #'s listing engine mods and not mentioning the drive train, there could be (and I have seen it), a 70rwhp diff between a T-56 and a TH400 with a 4000ish stall. Or a 12/9"/or 10 bolt rear, those have a big factor to wheel hp.

Dyno's are just tools, they're not really going to tell you anything else. They're there to measure how much gain there was between one tune and an other. Once the numbers stop going up, you know you are where you're supposed to be. I've seen two cars within 10rwhp of eacher be more than a second apart at the track. I've also seen 60rwhp differences between a Mustang Dyno and Dyno Jet. No dyno is technically more accurate than another. Some offer more tools and hence make a better tool. It all comes down to AFR and Spark. As a tuner you can't make more air go into a car, that's based mechanically by the parts of the motor, heads, cam, intake, exhaust....all a tuner does is optimize the fuel and spark based on that amount of airflow going into the motor. What it comes down to is that if a car is tuned right, then it's going to be fast regardless of what the dyno said.

Well I agree but we will always use dyno # as a gauge so I was just hoping to make the gauge easier to read.
