Default Dyno question

i just got back from the dyno last week and it came out 330 hp 341 tq. ON the way home i noticed it wasnt too peppy and snappy, so to make a long story short today i checked to see if my pedal was going all the way down on wot. It wasnt, iwas like a 1/4 from being fully opened , so i adjucted it and its nite and day. WOuld this casue my numbers to change?

Oh ya, My84z throttle was only opening like 80% I believe he went from 360 something to 380 something.

wow, thats a big jump. So i could of possibly lost some numbers then?

number number numbers... it seems that is all anyone is worried about these days. yea they are nice to have but bud dont worry your head about numbers. fact is if you put it on a mustang your numbers will be much lower. so dont base anything on them. like me i just posted a thread about my car putting down 360 hp and 370 tq. but i am not worried about that. on the street my car pulled on what i think was a lesser hp zo6. could have been one of the 405's but i dont know. and that is what should matter to you.

sorry for the rant nothing personal. but dont expect much from your pedal adjustment.

The tps shows 100% in the logs from the dyno time so it was opening 100% , maybe something happened on the way home ?

what gears should i go with 3.73? Or 4.10s

Over half of the 04 GTO's that I've come across only hit 88-92% TPS stock. Seems that the cable was out of adjustment. Usually picked up 10hp in back to back pulls after adjusting the cable and doing another pull.

Gear selection is going to be dependant on what you want for your car, it's not just a simple answer. Tires, stall, power adder....all things to consider when you make your choice.

The log could say 100% that doesn't mean the throttle blade is open 100%. I had to mess with my bracket to get it right.

No i said he gained about 20rwhp. As said before numbers don't really mean much. Dyno just a tool. My car is faster at the track running less numbers on the dyno. But is it true the the numbers are less. I don't know because the track doesn't measure HP you could go by trap speed. But you would have to factor weight, wind resistance, DA. I put my car at 12.5 A/F it make the most power on the dyno at 13.2 A/F. It's faster at the track with 12.5 A/F.
