Default 01 SS Dyno

I brought my 2001 SS M6 to Bishop Motorsports in Canton CT last friday...
Mods: Clear Lid, Smooth Bellow, Magna-Flow cat back exhaust.

The dyno was a dynapack chassis dynamometer:

336.6 hp @5199, 369.9 ft-lbs @4175.
The A/f was from 14 @3000 to 13 @5500

I have a feeling there is something off, the torque seems really high.

The shop has been open for a year now and specialize in imports; my Camaro got the third highest dyno numbers they have ever had (First Chevy they have done). Not to bad for a mostly stock Camaro with 92xxx miles. The funniest part to me is that they told me their dyno will read 15-25 hp less than a dynojet, seems like ricer math to me.

Let me know what you think, has anyone else on here run their car on a dynapack?

One more thing, the dyno sheet they gave me shows a drive ratio of 3.299:1. The car was run in 4th gear and the rear end has 3.42s i believe. They told me that the drive ratio takes into acount the ratio in the dyno too. Could the improper gear ratio be scewing the numbers?

You should come to the dyno day @ Dez Racing in Seakonk MA the 20th of this month and check it out. Those #'s seem high for your mods.

the guy running the car on they dyno said it was "breaking up" at higher rpm, anybody think there is a chance that my car has a cam in it (i think im the 4th owner) that i dont know about. my thought being that the cam would give me that kind of torque but due to "breaking up" the hp is not as high as it should be (it peaked at 5200).

If you had an aftermarket cam, your tq would be lower than your hp.

Althought your numbers do seem a tad high I don't think there high enough to have a cam. The hp/tq difference is really high there usually much closer than that on a fairly stock car and if there's that big of a differance its usually the other way around on therse cars.

if the motor wasnt "breaking up" at high rpm the hp would have kept climbing, possibly giving me more than 370 or atleast close to.

looking at the dyno graph, the hp climbs linearly up till about 4500 rpm (310 hp@ 4500rpm), then it starts getting wavy and doesnt climb as fast.

does anybody know about what rpm a stock cam make its max hp?

nobody else thinks 370 ft-lbs with a cat back and lid is a little to high?
