Default How much timing?

After my tune was done the tuner said I had 28 degrees of total timing, is this little or alot of timing. Would this be safe to run this much timing with nitrous or should I back it off a little.

I believe you would need to pull a few degrees of timing if you plan on running Nitrous. For safety reasons. As far as your car running 28*'s of total timing without nitrous is perfect. LS1's seem to make best power at or around 28*'s of timing. Lets see what everyone else says to see if I am correct or not. LOL. I think I am though.

You definatley need a quality 93 octane fuel, not some buget crap. A good Amoco, or Mobil 93, or even Shell V Power 93. Top quality premium fuel. IMO I don't like Sunoco. Bad performance in my car from the Sunoco's in my area. Don't know why.

i use HESS and Sunoco mainly. but i use 93 plus add a bottle of liquid horsepower to make sure i'm pass 93. car runs amazingly for being a bolt on car... if i could get traction off the line

just had my car tuned finnally last nite, when i asked about timing he said i was at 28, i guess i thought i read a magazine article that said stock ls1's were 32 degrees, oh well. i previously had a mail order tune. picked up 13 hp from a/f 13.8:1 down to 13.1:1 and 6 torque. last msg ultra z guy SLP sells a drive shaft safety loop on sale for $89, fyi.

LS1's like around 26 degrees if they're stock, and between 27-29 with cam and headers. I have seen a few cars take 31 degrees and like it, but thats on the extreme end.
