Default 396/ET245 dyno

A little run down on the motor. Hans Feustal 396 with ET245's. I kept the compression at 10:1...FI in the future...248/256/650/650/112, GMPP carb intake, elbow with a 90. Kooks 1 7/8" headers, Powerglide, 9".

So far it has made 486/410. The cam isn't for a short runner intake, so that along with the intake I think have killed my torque. Power is peaking at around 7k. I wish it made a tad more torque, but the nitrous should help that AFR is still fat and it still could use more timing, so I think it will hit the 500 mark.

I hope to finish the motor tune tomorrow, so I should have some nitrous numbers towards the end of next week.

Why are you taking so many different directions with one combo? I think you already know why it's down on tq, but it is definitely a power adder motor. Hopefully it picks up quite a bit with the n2o. Do you have a graph you could possibly post?

What size stall are you running in the glide? And what are the goals for this car? If you can get compression up another 2 pts or so you could have a beast for sure. Then just swap pistons when you go FI.

This motor has been a 2 year build, so I changed my mind after I had bought pistons, etc... I just found out that the compression is 9.2-9.3....that REALLY explains alot...lol.
The converter is also made for turbo, so it is very tight at this point. My graph looks like a 6speed almost.
I've got another set of ET heads ordered, if they come in, they will have a smaller chamber and I'll put those on it.

I did a few bottle pulls last night. On a 100 shot, it made 608/510. On a 250 shot, it did 730/xxx. AFR was 9.2 on that shot. It didn;t read the torque. If I can muster 750-775 out of it, I will be happy. I don't want to go much over that at this point. I need to learn to drive it.

9.3 SCR? Damn that explains it! Get those new heads on there bro and watch the tq come way back up. I bet you pick up 30hp and 30tq with just another 2 pts SCR. I don't even want to calc the DCR on that setup.

She definitely responds well to the spray though. Now go get some track times for everybody to drool over, your car is going to be nasty.
