Default 395 in³

456 RWHP and 422 ft.lbs Torque

I still need some more tuning done. Driveability is not so good at the moment. It keeps dying on braking and deceleration on turns or stopping. I think there is some more power to be had. Definately won't be going to the track just yet.

I don't see many 395 strokers in here.

how does it idle? I bet there must be some drivability issues with that if it dies upon decel...

It actually idles without dying. It's a very choppy idle @ 950 rpm but it does stay running. When I said "deceleration" I guess I should have said when I slow down enough to make a turn at an intersection. I can turn on the A/C without it dying at idle as long as it is in neutral or park. Some of it I'm sure I will just have to deal with if I'm gonna have a big a$$ cam and a big a$$ converter.

Here are some pics of the motor and car. I'm just experimenting with posting pictures. I tried to post the dyno sheet but it wouldn't come up.

you can go to imageshack.us and host it there and then just hotlink it over here...

We need to see the dyno graph and see whats going on to determine possibly the issue.

3.905 bore, 4.1 stroke?

What's up with the cubed symbol in the title and your sig?

I think your car would definently benefit from a set of bigger injector's like at least 42lbers and a 17/8 set of headers with true duals and of course a tune from either AMS,RPM,SQR or LG motorsports! but I bet your car is and will be lot's of fun to drive around!

The SLP maf might be messing with it. I've always heard bad things about those.

I have been wanting to do a 395 stroker for a long time, but just don't have the money right now. What pistons, rods, crank, etc. did you use?

Your graph has the correction factor cut off, is it STD or SAE ??

Good numbers for an A4 but what is up with graph squiggles that look like a loop at 4500 rpms. How about a graph that shows the lower RPMS too if its available. You definately have some tuning issues. Fix them and you'll find more hp/tq. Good luck.

The graph was SAE. That is the only one I have and I don't know what that squiggly crap is. I took the car in to SQR today. Hopefully they can get it ironed out. I see good posts about them on here and plus they are close. Speedtek in Haltom City, Tx. did the work on the motor and the initial tuning. I think the motor is gonna run fantastic if I can just get it tuned right.

News from SQR on the tuning. Apparantly my car has no "wideband" on it, so it is taking a little longer to get it back. I've heard nothing but good things about these guys. The car was gone to Speedtek for several months and I finally got it back. Now it's gone again until mid next week to SQR. I can't wait to be finally able to drive it. I'm sure it will be worth it. I'll post up the final numbers as soon as I get it back. Also I guess the SLP MAFS is giving trouble so we're tuning Speed Density and getting rid of the MAFS.

I take my car there. I have the Black Formula with the Black TQ Thrust IIs on it. Daniel & Billy & Scott are all real good guys & shoot straight to the point & don't cut corners.
