Default Birthday Dyno???

Ok here is the situation. In 2 weeks i'll be 22 and my grandfather offered to buy me the FAST 90/90 combo, which I will gladly accept. I plan on paying to get it ported, installed, and a new tune. My question to everyone is with this new mod and with my current setup what kind of numbers can I expect? Thanks in advance.

First of all I hate you, and wish someone would buy my new 90/90 for me. Second of all you will be well over the 400 mark. Prob closer to 410+.

Thanks I appreciate the love. Thats close to what I was looking for. So would that make it about 450-460 at the crank?

More than that. You have to figure about 14% drivetrain loss with M6, and about 20% with A4.

So in your case 500 crank hp is 400 at the wheels with the A4

Ok i'm starting to grasp it a little better. With me being at 387 now that should put me at about 487?

387HP x 20% = 77.4 HP
77.4 + 387 = 464.4 HP

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a jerk, but just trying to show you how to figure things out in the future. As my old math professors always harped on me to show all of my work.

I wanted 2 but I would be really short after install and tune. Intake gives me a lot more flexibility financially

since you dont have a huge cam or a h/c i wouldnt buy it. and if you do get it, youll be waisting your money if you get it ported as well. i have a fast 90/90 due to having a huge cam only setup and mine is box stock. its just over kill for your setup imo

When would be a good time to get it or get it at all? Should I just get my ls6 ported?

I say go for it and get it done. You WILL gain power and when you feel the need to add heads it will only make things better.

That's not how you do it. If you lose some percentage of power you would calculate as follows:

FWHP * (1-loss) = RWHP

so

FSHP = RWHP / (1-loss)

and as such, 387 rwhp / (1-0.2) = 483.75 fwhp.

I stand corrected, you are correct on how to figure out the FWHP. I guess to many years out of college on my part.

I think you are both wrong.
387x1.2=464.4
OOPS, read your post again Shane. I'd have to agree with your figure
I dont think an auto and drivetrain is going to consume 100 HP.
ESPECIALLY if its locked. Then the losses are more similar to a clutch car.
