Default Dyno Numbers

Dynoed my car a couple of day's back,,and the numbers were a lower than I thought..3 Years ago when I dynoed the car with full bolt ons made 349rwhp, I have since added a small comp extreme energy cam and valvetrain hardware and new clutch. when I dynoed the car friday it made 341rwhp/370rwtq. First dyno run was on a dyno jet and second pass, after cam install was on a dynamic dyno. Why are my numbers lower?...is there a differance in how these dyno's read hp?

Dynos always vary - even within the same brand. Alot of things can cause dynos to read differantly. Dynos can be great for for tuning but in my opinion it is best to take it to the track and see the improvements there.

well the car did pick up 4 tenths, and 3 mph..so I know it did gain hp. Just thought the car would be in the 365-375rwhp range.

Sounds like you picked up around 30 horsepower from old combo with the 3mph gain in et.

Thats a nice improvement. Dont let the #'s get you down. Like I said before dyno #'s will vary even on the same dyno. That et and mph improvement means much more than the dyno #'s. You are 4 tenths quicker than you were before, on average that would be about 40 more hp.
