Default SI5 Results finally :D

This past Friday Jeff @ PSI tuned the bird after the cam install. It was pouring so the drive home I couldnt really do any kind of driving like I normally do plus it was the worst traffic the entire 60+ miles back home

Here's the graph/numbers. Jeff said I have a knock and he thinks it might just be a corroded sensor since it didnt really react to any tuning he did. Tune prior and now done on a Mustang Dyno.

Oh and I forgot to add I had an oil leak which showed up after the dyno. Turned out to be coming from the sender that we installed for the oil temp gauge. Had to fix that so I didnt get the drive the car all weekend

Anyway...

SI5 - 231/237 589.595
Patriot Gold Extremes
Futural PS 7.4
LS6 Ported Oil Pump
LS6 Intake
Whisper Lid
SLP LT's
Edit*.....SLP UD Pulley also

Before Cam:

320 rwhp
333 rwtq

After

378 rwhp
364 rwtq

I am very happy with getting that much out of the cam. A couple people have said my numbers should be higher but I thought they were pretty respectable. I am wondering though if my SLP LT's are a problem. I have had a few tell me in the past that there's a funky bend in them that is restrictive. Before I go changing them out I have to make sure it's a known issue.

Michelle
My name is John and I'm looking to do a cam similar size to this. Do you think when you get to drive it more you can Pm its characteristics? I want to know how it feels down low, when the power kicks in(sotp) etc,and anything else. Congrats on the numbers!!!

Hi John!! Actually if you PM ibanez he can tell you all you need to know and right now . He's the reason I bought this cam and since he's owned it about a year or more he knows how it handles. He gave me a wealth of knowledge and I'm sure he can help you too .

Thanks for the congrats! I am very happy with the car but need to get out there and drive it like I usually do. I've been having to drive it like a granny for the past few weeks till it was tuned...then like I said it rained and then I had an oil leak so I still wasnt able to.

Thanks Jason and Ash! We missed seeing you at Jeff's Ash! Good luck in school.

thats really good for his dyno..didn't you gain like 58hp or something? If so that is about as good as it gets from just a cam. People forget that most of the high cam only numbers you see on here come from a dynojet. Also how did you get in contact with jeff? I am trying to get in touch with him

Considering the mustang dyno, I'd say you made some good power and good gains for just the cam. Let us know how it feels when you get a chance to really drive it!

A 58hp/31tq gain and making 378hp on a Mustang dyno is definitely impressive.

Ohhhh Jeff and his love for richer A/F's throughout the powerband

Good numbers. I have knock as well that is unrelated to anything. It's gotta be something in his shop that's causing that crap.

Jarrad......I just kept calling and calling and finally got through...Alice answered and I set up an appt before I went on vacation.

Arctic......strange then huh? Must be knock ghosts

Thanks everyone for the replies . Yes the 58 more hp and 31 more tq makes me happy Now hopefully the oil leak is fixed so I can go out and drive my normal way

Oh...let me ask you all this. I havent asked Jeff anything about it and I'll see if it still does it but I think he set the idle at 900-950 or so. In the heavy traffic while just creeping up a bit then pushing the clutch in and stopping the RPM's would drop to 500 then go back up to where he set it. Is this normal?

Gotta be something in the tune. Just have Jeff fix it next time you're in there (ha, I love saying that like it's so easy).

Just had to add this morning I drove the car to work. I had to get gas as it was breathing on fumes. After I filled up and headed out to the road the car stalled. It started up fine so I went on up the side street to the main road.....turned right and then had to sit in a right hand turn lane to get on the highway and the car stalled again. Took a little longer for it to start this time and then I had to give it a little gas as I got to the light because it was wanting to stall again. I made my right and had to come to a stop because of traffic and it stalled once more . The rest of the 12 miles to work it was fine and the rpm's never dropped down to 500 again at idle. Looks like I have to call the tuner to see what's going on.

Otherwise I did get to hit it once about 20 minutes up the road and I can definetly feel the difference!! Its like night and day. I cant wait till I can really play around without this damn traffic!!
