Default dyno numbers got questions

ok the car is a 99 ss slp pkg 6spd. slp lid, k&n filter, eldabrock headers, aftermarket y pipe, 3 inch magnaflow cat, and a tune for these parts.

the stock clutch slips a lil when shifting through the gears. but not when in gear.

the car ran a 8.68 @ 84.5mph and 13.31 @ 105mph

dynoed at 365whp and 375 ftpounds

how far off do those numbers sound?

i expected it to make around 320-330 whp.

Holy crap, where did you dyno? Your dyno numbers scream factory freak for a bolt-on LS1, especially a 99 with your mods, but your track results seem to speak of a more normal car. If anything, your track numbers are a bit slow. Can you drive?

Or did they give you someone else's results?? Haha.

im not the best driver, but im above avrage. the clutch dose slip a good bit when going through the gears. if your in gear like on the dyno pull it dont slip.

but i didnt expect the dyno numbers to be that high.

just talked to a few other people that have used the dyno and they said it was about 20-30 hp higher than dynojets so that kinda explains why there so high.

we are basicly using it for a comparison. we just bought a ported ls6 intake, cam, springs, chromemolly pushrods, clutch, 12lb flywheel, 12bolt 3.73 gear, and a nitrous express kit.

Are your numbers SAE corrected? My uncorrected numbers were quite a bit higher.

With the clutch slipping, you wont see the full potential of your car at the track.

There's no excuse for a 365 hp car to be trapping at 105. No matter how much the clutch is slipping. Like they said, maybe the numbers aren't SAE corrected? or just plain aren't correct.

Most setups with those mods make about 330 whp like you suspected. You should still be trapping higher than 105 but maybe that is due to your clutch problems.

the car dosent have the mods to make a full 365whp, i dont think. the 13.31 pass was the best of the day and also the second pass it slipped pretty bad going into 3rd so we didnt run it anymore in fear of not making it home.

the first pass was a 13.44 @ 104.9mph it still slipped a lil.

i belive our perticular dyno reads a tad higher than most. couple friends have used it and a dynojet back to back and it has read higher on both cars.

lightning made 385whp at modular depo and 405whp here.
and our crx made 512whp on a dynojet and made 560whp here

its a land&sea dynomite dyno

I ran the same et and mph in my 98 with just a lid and 3.73's, no way you're making 365 rwhp. I'd swap the clutch. Your numbers should be closer to the 330 rwhp range.

Sounds like you just dropped a ton of money into mods. It should be a BEAST after all of that. Make sure you have some decent tires to handle that setup!

were hoping for it to be a beast! were only gona spray 100hp for now which is really nothing on a v8. a friend had a 00 ss auto with stall gear and he sprayed 100hp nx kit every weekend for over a year and had 0 problems outa the motor.

were deff puttin tires on it with that rear end. looking into the mickey thompson radial i belive they make a 305 ish 17 thats the goal but worst case the factory size 274-40 will be it.

we also just bought a set of sub frame connectors and have been looking into some adj coil overs and panhard bar.

its still gona be daily driven, (wont have to) but why build something you cant enjoy? we want it to hook like hell on the street as well as the track.
