Default Big dyno difference?

I have a '85 Celica with a 2001 LS1/T56, 12lb flywheel, underdrive pulley, no AC, hooker long tubes (drivers side modified to fit), single 3" cat, then 2.5" exhaust out the back. My goal is 350 rwhp. I got it tuned and it was showing 336hp/350tq before the underdrive pulley went on so I figured I was making over 340hp with the pulley. I just stuck it on the dyno at our shop for grins and it came back with 316hp/328 tq with the UD pulley. We know our dyno tends to read low but that's pretty ridiculous.

Which one of these numbers seems more right to you guys? Or should I just average the two and guess that's what I have? Also, what would be the best way to make my goal, bigger exhaust? ported TB? rockers?

Slip even a moderate cam in there and watch your numbers climb..

Hard to tell with no info on the dynos, but do what the previous poster said. Even some of the smallest cams out there will put you WELL over your goal. Ported throttle body, bigger exhaust, and rockers might do it for you, but a cam swap PLUS those mods is even better.

If you are just trying to hit 350, do what the previous guys mentioned, but I wouldn't waste your money on rockers since your stockers will be ok...What kind of intake set-up are you running...CAI or something similiar?..

Different dyno - different day - different numbers. Makes sense to me.

We have a dynojet, I'm not sure what kind Extreme Horsepower uses. I know the numbers were going to be different but I just didn't think it would be by 25-30hp. I'm running a 3.5" elbow with the stock maf into a large K&N cone filter. It's just sucking engine bay air now but I will be running cold air to it as soon as it warms up enough for me to work on my car a little.

I should have been more specific, I was wondering if I could get to 350whp without opening up the engine. I do plan on doing heads/cam later on down the road but for now I need to sort out the suspension and get some better brakes before I kill myself. I've had it to 160mph and it was still pulling, all of a sudden the suspension seemed really soft and the brakes seemed way to small.

From what you guys are saying I'll probably just go with the TB and bigger exhaust and be happy with it till it's time for a major upgrade.

Bloody hell... I am just trying to imagine a Celica with any LSx stuffed under the hood.

Must be a blast - and as pointed out, a cam will wake even the stock LS1 up, get some LS6 heads on their, a wicked cam and you will be 380+ at the wheel. (in the Z06 I had 424rwhp from just a cam, but then again I dont know how much you would lose with the diff. air itake setup and compromised headers).

Exactly, this is the only way to get a similar comparison.

Dyno results can vary pretty greatly based temp/DA, dyno calibrations, type of dyno, and temperature of the motor/trans/rear. Id say the first dyno is more in line with what you should be making but take it to the track and find out for sure. how much does that car weigh?

It weighs dead even at 2900lbs with a full interior minus the spare tire and half a tank of gas. I'll get it to a track one of these days but I'm pretty horrible at drag racing... I guess I'll just have to practice more.
