TSP MS3 vs VSI 228 cam
last year i bought an ms3 cam from a buddy of mine,it was new(he went with a diff setup)anyway in dec i put it in and took it to Va Speed in Va Beach to get it tuned-i was really happy with the results.I was looking for 400hp and thats what i got.the only mods i have are pacesetter lt's ory,qtp cutout and an slp lid. After driving it for a couple of months, even though it not my dd i realized it wasnt the cam for me,just a little too aggressive for driving from light to light. So i called Mike at Va Speed and he told me he had the cam for me-said it might not make as much peak power but would make good power under the curve. So i bought it and put it in.took it back to those guys for the tune as well. When i picked the car up last week,i was astonished by the numbers-not only did it pick up under the curve but peak was up as well and the tq is incredible. As for driving it,its a dream.I just want to thank the guys at Va Speed for all the help.

Large cams like the MS3 with stock heads and compression have an awful low DCR. They make the topend power they do mainly due to the duration and lift of the cam. A smaller duration cam with stock heads provides a better DCR which means more useable power and in cases like yours more overall power.

Nice! Looks like I'm running the wrong cam! I have the MS3 and full exhaust + E -cutout. Similar to u. I just had my car tuned by the guys at Virginia Speed as well. Real nice people to work with, and I think they did a great job on my car. Here's the sheet.
