Since the engine is not programmed to stay in 4 cylinder mode past a certain load setting, the best I could do would be to give you part throttle dyno numbers in 4 cylinder mode. It's probably around 40-50 rwhp before it goes into 8 cylinder mode. It would be interesting to check though. Maybe next time, we'll check it out.

Thanks for the post. Looking forward to getting mine tuned. I'm liking this car a lot more than I had expected.

Pretty much any stock internal LS1 car has more tq than hp. I'm sure used to seeing it.

very nice. it looks like the untuned dyno 1/4 mile runs are very accurate. I've seen a few runs the mag's have done. Car and Driver, Motortrend and edmunds all got average times of 13.6@106.

just a tune running 12's, I love it.

Thumbs up Good job

I'm glad to see that you used a dyno that simulates actual road conditions... and a dyno that you can actually use to tune unlike the others...

Great increase as well... I bet it feels much quicker than 34rwhp since this, again, reflects an actual increase that the car produces on the road.

good results. I figure that car would be impacted just as much as my C6Z06 when the temperatures got hotter. I used to see in my vette the timing would get pulled as much as 10 degrees between being at 180 and 200 degrees.

After the run with TM removed did you turn it back on or leave it off?

For now, the TM is left off. The shifts aren't harsh like I thought they might be. We're going to go to the track and run the car with TM on and with it off. If no TM shows gains of less than a tenth, then we'll probably turn TM back on to extend the life of the tranny. We're just learning as we go.

Can't the TM be adjusted instead of being turned off/on?

Also myy wife loves the G8 we may wait for the 09 GXP to come out but when it does I may be hitting you up for a tune. Have you seen any improvement in the MPG since the new tune?

The MPG has risen partly because of better timing values, but mostly because the G8 can now cruise in 4 cylinder mode on level ground at over 70mph.

Wow, 34 rwhp!

I don't think you'll be seeing any 12 sec 1/4s , though.

EDIT: Hell, you ARE in Texas... guess I'll have to wait and see!

I'm not sure if it can be adjusted just yet. I think it is only on or off at this point.

Good numbers for a stock motor 4 door. Looks like you really put some effort in that tune Patrick. Nice work. Let us know the result of the TM pass vs. non-TM pass.
