Dyno differences
I've heard there are differences in dyno HP results. Example is that I've heard the Dynojet has higher hp #'s. What are the differences? Is there a conversion factor? Thanks

There are also differences between shops.
Dyno's are for tuning....track shows you how much ***** you have.
To answer your Q....'mustang' dyno's are load based the ones the LSx community use are generally not resulting in slightly higher HP readings.

From the search I've done it seems that a Dynojet is approximately 10%-15% higher than other dyno's.
I'm pleased with my recent dyno; 485whp on a dynodyamics. Tuner did a great job.

Well youre search doesnt take into consideration that the dyno operator can mess with numbers. Like i said ive been on both with the same mods on the same car, no difference.
If your dyno operator messed up the correction factor you could get higher or lower numbers.

Just an update. Added ATS stepped, tuned 1 7/8 headers with new 3" exhaust, Flowmaster 50 deltas. Tuned it on the Dyno Dynamics dyno. The operator is a conscientious tuner that doesn't exaggerate his numbers. He stated the shop was 100 degrees with 50% humidity that day and that the powerplant was extremely temp sensitive. Put down 502 whp! yea! my goal was to bust 500. the tuner stated emphatically "those are real rear wheel numbers-it's a monster!" I'm stoked! With just less then 500 miles on that LME LS7 - can't wait to put some pavement time on it.

Just to place this in perspective. He recently dynoed a 08 Z06 427 with long tube headers, cold air intake, manual-mine is a 4l60e. It put down 444whp on a cooler day.
We also replaced the new MT DRs with some junk tires that were smaller width to do the runs. We would have trashed the MTs, don't know if that made any difference, but I assume it could have.

I made 387rwhp on a MD mustang dyno and I'm faster than 118+mph 1/4 cars. And I made 405rwhp on a lower reading dynojet. I'm sure I could be put higher numbers on a forgiving dynojet.
mph on the 1/4 gives the best idea how much you really have.
