Default stock LS1 kill torque THIS much?

with mods in sig (232 cam, LTs and tru duals, ported tb, intake, tuned, etc...) i made 377 rwhp and 346 ft lbs. this is all with the STOCK LS1 intake manifold. the power is where i expected it to be but damn the torque is extremely low! does the stock intake hold these cars back THAT much? guess we'll see after i swap it for an LS6.

anyone else have similiar setups with the stock LS1 intake? if so post up your dyno results.

I've got similar setup... budget didn't allow for a new intake yet. It hit the dyno at G-force... but it was missing like crazy and couldn't get it fixed that day. The best torque number they recorded was 367... I forget at what rpms.

The mods are as follows...

346 ci
PP ls6 stg 3 heads
LPE GT-11 cam (215/231, .641/.644, 118 LSA)
LS1 Intake, Stock (non-ported) TB
SLP 85 MAF & Lid (paper filter)
MAC Headers & ORY (leaking like a SOB on the dyno)
Flowmouth catback
LS7 Clutch/M6/3.90 geared 10 bolt

Found out it was just a plug. Got the exhaust all welded up. Gotta touch up few things and get it back on the dyno, and finish up the tune.

Well if the car only made 377rwhp I wouldn't say that's a terrible torque number. I think you will see drastically better numbers and a much stronger car with an LS6 intake.

id expect 10 RWHP gain with ls6, i put one on my H/C car, didnt have it dynoed but i could feel a little difference maybe so probley only 10 hp but every bit counts. well worth the money b/c you can sell it for what you paid for it when you decide to get a fast 90 or something.

this should be a 400 rwh car no problem. i tihnk its usually a 10-15 hp gain on bolt on cars and sometimes as much as 20-25 on cammed cars depending the size. the complete specs on the cam are 232/232 595/595 112+2.

I have a LS-6 Intake if anyone is interested. Just took it off of my car when I installed the fast.

Something doesn't sound right at all. I made a little more tq at the wheels with just bolt ons.... It should be more than that imo. What kind of miles are on the car??? And what kind of dyno was it on??

You need to give us a complete spec of your cam, especially LSA and degrees of advance. If your cam is a wide LSA cam with no advance, then your intake valve closing point is too late and your dynamic compression is too low. Torque suffers as a result. I'm pretty confident your intake centerline is pretty late (like 114 or greater). If you didn't replace the stock timing chain, you could have too much slack in your chain and that will retard your timing as well. Check your ICL. Betcha it's pretty late.

Did you add a new timing chain with the cam install? Do you know the exact installed intake centerline?

Don't expect the best results with half assed work.

just bc i dont know the ICL means i did half *** work? nothin i do on my car is half-assed . this was my first cam swap, so i pretty much just helped the guy with whatever i could. thats kind of ignorant to call someones work half assed when its just an assumption youre making.

I see a couple of potential problems with your setup.

1. You're running 918 springs on an XE-R lobed cam. Many people who do that experience valve control issues and don't make their full power potential. I never recommend 918s with XE-R cam lobes. They're much too aggressive.

2. Reusing the stock timing chain. Betcha it has a bunch of slack in it. Without degreeing in your intake centerline, you could very well have valve events nowhere near where they should be.
